Seven months in Prison??! Haba!!!

That doesn't even begin to make sense... Why no option of fine?!!

Community service for 6 months even makes more sense.

Why is the Nigerian Judiciary unnecessarily harsh when doling out judgment to the members of the lower class, but shockingly lenient towards the higher class for the very same offenses?!!

Y'all sentence phone snatchers to death or life imprisonment, but give Politicians and elected officials guilty of siphoning billions wrist slaps.

I was thinking this too. Our judge are something else. They don't think

Did you read the part where she assaulted a law enforcement officer.
Do you know what would have happened to her here in London of she trys that?

Before you start comparing money laundering by politicians and theft, armed robber and kidnapping etc simply go and read up what the law says about this things.

Didn't you finish primary school? Or you were among those jumping school fence to go throw sticks at unripe mangos.
We were thaught about the 3 arms of government, you should know the responsibilities of each, so slamming the judiciary for laws made by the legislature tells me something interesting....

You only need to see how it is done somewhere else to see that many of those pedestrian bridges are themselves aides to death. How good is the health of people compelled to ascend and descend the bridges? How many of them have eaten good food in recent times? Do they even have anything in the stomachs at all? Yet you are forcing them to climb those things that Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi would avoid like a plague? In other climes where people are well-fed, they don't even have to use those kinds of energy-draining constructions to move across roads. Zebra crossings, pelican crossings, puffin crossings, toucan crossings, pegassus crossings, etc are there for them. Overhead pedestrian bridges are common across railway lines. That is why you can see their young, old, and pregnant ones moving freely everywhere.

sentencing should be tantamount to the offense and there should be an option for a fine depending on the gravity of the offense.

7months is traumatizing for a young lady with such offense. Pls they should allow her pay fine are reduce the jail term.

How many months in prison did Seun Kuti get, Mr. Learned Lawyer?!!

Is Senator Abbo in jail for assaulting an innocent Love Machine seller?!!

Did I mention Legislature here?!! If laws are made, are they strictly for the poor and unconnected?!!

Should the Judiciary arm of the government be biased or dish out judgement with prejudice?!!

Just jump inside my comment and be acting superior while capping nonsense!!!

But if the girl is a fan of the man that gets ideas from mad men, her fellow osu that plunged the country into the current balabluistic situation by staging the first coup, will be shouting tribalism.

This is not the first time these judges show such judicial bias towards people of the lesser class...!

Seun Kuti disobeyed laws and even assaulted an officer yet never got even one week in jail.

Senator Abbo didn't even get to court for assault and bodily harm done to someone.

Funke Akindele got a slap on the wrist during COVID.

...I can go on and on.

I don't understand what those attacking me are defending here.

Justice should be pure and equal to all... Anything less becomes injustice!

Truly a shame that someone can be sentenced for 7+ months for such a minor offense. The judge wants to make an example of them, yet they will just grow to hate the system, as many of us already do. That's definitely uncalled for. She could be told to pay a fine, simple. 7 months is entirely inhumane. That's not justice, on any standard. Please, someone should appeal.

I don't know why people get mind, if motor kils person for your front before, nobody go tell you to cross while seeing bridge even far away.. .
1. Motor carry person for front, she landed at the back. She follow crowd cross then while she was the last, she didn't see the last vehicle, that one happen for mowe
2. Another, the man just dey waka jeje beside road, the motor wake jeje go meet him for road side kill him
3. I won't disclose the one at CMS and Maryland while I was still in Lagos then. Almost 6 experience,I won't there cross road even if the bridge is far
how many ppl motor dey kill? How many accidents happen? Very few, They should focus more on one way. You can't expect ppl to be climbing high bridge up and down. Developed cities use crosswalks

Yes. Community service is adequate for the offense committed. Imprisonment is very unnecessary in this instance.

She was sentenced for an assault not road rule.

Assault carries prison sentence all over the world. It's even worse when you attack uniformed govt official.

assault anywhere is world carries prison sentence.
You could be charged with attempted murder if the assault is pretty big for even longer sentence to life.

It's worse when you assault uniformed govt official who are only performing their official duty.

This should be a non-committal sentence, that is, community service or fine, why send such person to a prison, it doesn't makes sense.
