Being registered to vote affects your credit records in a positive way. You should do that once you arrive the UK. Takes about 3 minutes.

https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

You can also check whether you are on Ι“the voter's register here

I applied to be put on the voter's register and I got my confirmation letter earlier this week. What are the next steps? How does this affect my credit score?

And talking about credit scores, what practical ways can I build mine?

Oh oh good, since you mentioned this, I'll now make my comment.

Looking at my previous posts, I'm always against people "hiding" even on a faceless forum whenever they come to seek for advice.. you hear things like my friend, my brother, my colleague etc. Most people don't come straight for fear of being mol*sted, mocked and picked on by the likes of @Lexusgs430 in the guise of providing advice. So if anybody is chasing people away from seeking advice here, it's not me but the likes of @Lexusgs430. Some people leave this forum more depressed whenever they come to seek for advice.

So, if I was to envy anybody, @Lexusgs430 is not in that league. I've seen people get top end jobs, I've seen someone buy a house after just 2 years in UK, I've seen guys get distinction, people pass practical driving tests at their first try and so many other motivating feats. The only thing @Lexusgs430 has is early mover's advantage and enjoying student loans, public funds. That's nothing to be proud of. By the time the smarter guys spend the number of years @Lexusgs430 has spent here, they would have achieved way way more than he could ever dream of. They'll be in the top echelon.

I'm tired of this discussion but I'm never tired of saying things as they should be. Greetings.

I could also say its people like you that discourage other people from coming on here to give advice with the subtle jabs you give to those who try, the last one being 'those who sit and draft immigration policies with the home office' or something along that line. The information is out there then why do we come here? I read the gov.uk website and i don't understand sometimes and someone comes and explains in a way i can relate with. they come and say realities/facts but because it does not tally with your sentiments does not mean other people do not gain something from it.

please lets live and let live. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands.

been trying to avoid replying directly but it is hard.. .

m*lested? mocked? picked on?

This is a lie from the pit of hell....

If there is anyone that scares people away, it is people like you that are jealous and showing signs of inferiority complex

Like i stated, i asked Lexus to modify the Rent is Dead money slogan so people don't mis-read it..

Do i carry any beef in my heart because of it? Noooo

Have i gotten way more benefits from Lexus before and after that? Yes.. even this week

Fix your jealousy, inferiority complex and hatred.. that's ur battle to fight.. not Lexus or anyone here...

Jealousy won't let you see what's working great in your life, because it keeps you focused on other people's lives

You have a problem and you just prefer to run from it and face others

I had cause to meet the previous occupant of the house I'm renting and her prophecy has been fulfilled.

She said landlord would keep increasing rent every year and I even rented at a premium. I've had to haggle and settle at an uncomplimentary amount.

It is however extra motivation to convert my rent payments to equity payments.

Lexusgs430:

Absolutely...... I would continue my engagements, as at when I feel necessary......

I have the ability to read and ignore trolling posts .......πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

How rent money is dead money, means people should run faster than their shadows,..... Simply shows some people might have hit their heads on the floor, at birth......πŸ˜€

For the very slow one's, it simply means whilst happily paying your rent, always have it at the back of your mind to latch unto government/developer schemes, and take advantage (it's a shame I had to break this down)........😜

Good afternoon all. Please kindly advised. My wife was accused sleeping on duty where she works as a relief support worker in Scotland by an agency staff. She just Cos with another company recently. She has been suspended where she does relief support work and would be invited for disciplinary committee. She told me she was surprised the agency staff could do such because that very day the agency requested she wanted to leave 15 minutes earlier closing time because she lost someone . She gladly accepted .
Please kindly advise on how defend herself at the disciplinary committee so her license would not revoked if reported to the regulatory body (SSSC) and eventually the main employer will withdraw their COS . PLEASE WE NEED YOUR ADVICE!

Was she sleeping truly? If yes, then she might need to find an explanation for that.

For example, she might explain that on that particular ocassion she had some personal issues, say childcare that was out of the ordinary and really affected her mentally. We all have times when our guards are down.

I am not sure why sleeping on duty will be enough to take someone's licence though. That will be extremely harsh. She might need to consult her union and legal representatives.

Lol..but you can't live your life based largely on people's interpretation of your words or thouhhts nau.

Your post about graduating with a *Dinstinction* in Cybersecurity is a big motivation to me. It let's me know that my dream of going to a Russell institution is achievable.

If someone feels is showoff, their feelings/opinions are also valid, but with them and in their pocket.

Congrats once again make we focus on better things.

hustla:

Life.. Perspectives...interpretation... Often dependent on your ability to think critically or your general outlook

Some things you say can be used as motivation while others think you're insulting, showing off or degrading them.

While some people think you're a show off on LinkedIn, others use that as motivation.

While one says rent money is dead money so as to encourage you to get on the property ladder early and build equity, others think its bullying or showoff

In everything though, one does not brag about the work of one's hands to another with leprosy (loosely translated Yoruba proverb)

It is worrisome that you are posting the same screenshot several times just to drive home your point. In the process, you have used insulting words, which are way worse than the comment you screenshot.

I can say that you are not morally qualified to call people out as you are worse than the person you are calling out.

Read your confirmation letter carefully.
It should clearly spell out your next steps.
If you can't find it, get on your council website or give them a ring here

The lenght of time you ve spent on the voters register boosts your credit record . I cant say by how much it ll boost your score because your credit score is affected by other factors : moving to a new address, using a large proportion on
your credit card etc
