It may be difficult to find an adult male in this community in the next coming days if Nigerian army lives up to its reputation on matters like this. Dead body go surplus

Odi town in Bayelsa comes to mind.

But how come they don't have this reaction to things like this when it happens up north in recent times

And I'm like people don't think. Where is the bookie getting the 200% bonus from? No be from other mugus who have lost both their deposits and the bonus?

That's even assuming all these Mrbanks and co are not working for them.

The one that happened in Niger state, we nor hear say army go retaliate.
Outside the old case of shites, I nor remember army going to destroy places that their army officers were killed in.

Once e reach down south, especially the SS region.. Them go sabi burn everything to the ground.

I don't think any northern town/village will deem it fit to kill as much as 16 soldiers .

The Shiites matter that happened back then, we all know how it ended .

One thing about the north is they may not respect policemen, but they don't 4ck with soldiers . I experienced this first hand . They respect soldiers and don't throw caution to the wind when dealing with Nigerian army

When soldiers are killed in the north, its bandits that did it and so therefore they can't reply with leveling the community.
But when it comes to SS, it's the community people abi?
Suddenly we can't easily ascribe the crime to militants or criminals and next thing is that people should leave because the soldiers only way is to level the whole community 😁.

This happened and I didn't hear people say the army should go where they were killed to level the place.

But once it's down south, everybody should run oooo.
Instead of all us to tell the army to conduct investigation. We go help dey give legitimacy for the stupid reaction by telling communities to run.

This happened in Niger state again

Buba said, “Our troops entered into an ambush in the general area of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. The ambush led to a firefight, which resulted in the deaths of three officers and 22 soldiers, while seven were wounded in action.

I nor read where them dey advice the community to run.
Neither did the army hesitate to say bandits committed the crime.
Na militants or criminals do this one.
Make the soldiers do investigation, go find them. 👍

I don't understand u.

From all accounts of this particular incident, it was stated that two communities were having a communal clash; soldiers were deployed there for peace keeping and the soldiers were ambushed & killed .

How is this the same thing with soldiers fighting armed terrorists/bandits in the north getting killed in the line of duty?

Are u suggesting that when soldiers get killed while fighting bandits/terrorists the soldiers should level the village they were protecting ?

See I do not support the soldiers going on a revenge mission killing both the innocent and the guilty in an extra-Judicial manner , but we really do not need to be comparing apples and oranges here .

What those community youth did is similar to what Hamas terrorists did against Israel. It's more like trouble dey sleep yanga go wake am

Buy an airtel modem. They are selling them with sim at market square for like 10k. If you are a new subscriber, your first five or so subs get 100% bonus. I am using airtel wifi to post this right now.

It is stable

Mtn is currently too flaky to be relied on for an online business meeting. Unless your employers will give some leeway to everyone based on current situation.

Also I am fairly certain whichever phone you use supports dual sim even if na e sim. So just do what you should have done and get a second line. Mtn is great but if you travel the length and breath of Nigeria, in some placed it will fail you at a critical juncture

In 2005 I was in oshodi with a laptop and some police cornered me. Took me to station. No network. The saving grace was my brother was with me and he had a starcomms line.

In 2013 I was in an accident at ore. Three lines mtn,glo and Etisalat. I had the accident in a zone where only Etisalat had network. Car was fked, it was 5.30 pm, in ore.

You need a second line.

Let the military carryout investigation and find out who did it.
Could be militants or a group of criminals.

My own is simple, the village doesn't have to be attacked to prove a point.
Arrest the actual individuals who committed the crime and keep it moving.
All this talk about destroying the village or they should run away is just giving the army legitimacy to murder innocent citizens.
What happened in Odi was evil and that should not be allowed to happen again.

LET THE ARMY CARRYOUT INVESTIGATIONS AND GO AFTER THE INDIVIDUALS THAT KILLED THEIR PERSONNEL. THE VILLAGE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE DESTROYED.

What you are calling apple and oranges is a comparison of reaction by the army in two different regions.
Outside warzones in the north of which the same army hasn't razed down these communities that house terrorists (except during actual battle). How many times have you read that the NAF has destroyed the village that their soldiers were ambushed in Northern States?

I used to have a second line , but I just got tired of using two lines . I have an airtel sim in a Zte Modem, but I can't remember the password of the Zte Modem again so connecting it to laptop is quite difficult.

Maybe I will just buy an airtel modem las las .

Their local support is not much better. I went to reactivate a dead line late last year so I could try them again after a long hiatus. The customer service person was literally indifferent. Sorry your sim has been phased out, nothing we can do. No we don't have any sims in this office.

I jus vex comot. And I left them because they were doing something very dodgy - throttling free download periods.

There is a button on all these modems. Press the button for 10 to 15 seconds and the modem will reset to default settings. Password should be the modem serial number.

In future you can save some passwords to one note. The section with the passwords can also be passworded.

U are just getting emotional about an issue that is not even political .

Nigerian army is a military that operates with so much impunity ; it didn't start today. They may make press release online about carrying out investigations but we all know how they will react in physical . Nigerian army don't need any legitimacy to carry out any murder ; this is something they've been doing since the 60's .

U need to do more of reading Nigeria's history . Soldiers were used to quell western region crisis and middle belt crisis in the 60's . That was the moment soldiers started getting involved in civil matters .

This doesn't even have anything to do with northern vs Southern politics . I've been in the north before and I know how northerners fear soldiers . People saying the community people should relocate know what they are saying because they know how vicious officers of the Nigerian army can be in matters like this .

I'm in no way in support of the soldiers conduct, but mehn those communities just brought war to their doorstep

If u were a resident of that community and innocent , would u rather stay instead of running away ?

I am against the people on social media asking the army to burn down the whole place , but I support those advising people to leave the area .

Nigerian army no get joy . If their commander tell them to raze downs village, they will do just that . There are times in V.I that u will see them doing their endurance trek and they will block the road , I will be foolish to come down from my car and start speaking English for them to leave the road cos I'm running late for work .
