Hello please am new here and would like to get some information concerning PR. I would like to apply as a Dressmaker or Tailor(393213). I have over 7 yr working experience as a Tailor in Nigeria and I have a bachelor's in another field. I work for my friend in her shop sometimes and also self employed. In a situation I don't have the regular payslips, what can I use as most payments is cash at hand and bank transfers. Can I go ahead in writing ielts. I do not have pension also. Do I need a trade certificate to submit. Do I stand a chance . Please who knows anyone that has applied for PR as a Tailor |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Remix10(m): 9:32am On Mar 06 |
NQAY23Nella: Yes you can, but you should know your years of experience will start counting after your submitted highest qualification, meaning if your masters was submitted, your years will start counting after Masters. So its advisable you go with your bachelors as Masters degree does not give you extra point unless it was done in an Australian University. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Remix10(m): 9:34am On Mar 06 |
Tsesi: While assessment may be possible, claiming your 7 years of experience may not be possible without providing Pension, tax or payslips. |

Guys Please I studied mechanical engineering and have been working in an electrical firm for more than 9yrs now. How do I get assessed and which of them should I apply for? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Remix10(m): 8:31am On Mar 07 |
Tsesi: You cannot get a clearance certificate if your tax was not filed by your company, Pension or Tax can be used. |

Good evening house. I am a medical doctor currently doing my housemanship in Nigeria and will like to go through the Australian pathway. I previously was keen on going to the UK but it seems getting jobs after getting the GMC license has become increasingly difficult. Please how easy is it getting jobs in Australia after passing the AMC1? Is it as difficult compared to the UK at the moment? I will really appreciate any answers/contributions to this. Thank you everyone. |

Hi good evening house Having over 10years work experience as an audio engineer My first degree is maths and stats Unilag (graduated 2013) Maxed IELTS My challenge is how to go about Tra assessment as the requirements for sound technician is diploma in any audio engineering related course. I’ve been stucked here for over 3-4years. Don’t know how to go about this. I registered my company- have all documents to prove these. Going about with TRA assessment is tricky Any help/ advise would be appreciated. |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 12:32pm On Mar 10 |
milliondollarma: My only concern now is that your degree is Mechanical Engineering and your 9 years experience is in electrical Engineer. This implies that, if you choose Electrical Engineer, you will have to only assess your 9 years experience. But if you choose Mechanical Engineer, you will have to only assess your degree as your 9 years experience doesn't align with the role of a Mechanical Engineer. Or is there a way you can align the role to fit Mechanical Engineer? Draw the attention of tunlex to this. tunlex01 please kindly advise him on this on the right occupation he should choose.

Rosunkeye:You will need at least a cert IV in Live Production and Technical services. If you have at least 3 years apprenticeship training with trade test I, II and III, it may work. But without a qualification in sound, don’t bother with TRA |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 10:59pm On Mar 13 |
Mcslize:He may give it a go assessing with EA as an Electrical engineer - it’s a 50-50 chance. With Mechanical engineer, you won’t be able to claim experience point but with ELectrical, you may get something |

Thanks all for this wonderful platform. You guys rock, and God in his infinite mercies will grant our heart desires. Amen. Please I have a Bachelor's degree in Elect/Elect Engineering, a Ph. D in Management and I have been working as a telecom engineer for over 15 years. And most recently as a Technical department head for over 5 years. I wish to apply for the Australia PR through The Engineer manager skill. Please could anyone advise me on the feasibility of getting assessed by IML and EA. Has anyone toed this path before, how rigorous is it? And what chances do I have? I found out that almost all states need Engineer Manager. Please I am married with Children. And my wife is a practicing medical doctor in Nigeria, should she be the principal applicant? Both of us fall within the age bracket. Many thanks in anticipation for guidance. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 3:01pm On Mar 18 |
ChikelueIgba:you can assess with either of them. Both require CDR, although they will only consider your experience mostly in the last 5 years since that's technically when you became an engineering manager. Visit their respective website to read their migration skills assessment (MSA) guide. Shortage in state does not connote nomination. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by ChikelueIgba: 3:11pm On Mar 18 |
tunlex01: Many thanks for the prompt response @tunlex01. Please regarding the shortage of Engineering Managers in the various states, are you suggesting that I may likely not get nomination. Please throw more light on skills shortages and how one can leverage them. Thanks again! |

I want to sincerely appreciate everyone for the amazing information being shared on this group. God bless you all. Pls, kindly advice me on this. I had my national diploma from a federal polytechnic in 2014 , where I studied statistics. Afterwards, I proceeded to University of Ilorin where I had my Bachelor degree in Statistics in 2018, But my transcript only covers 200level to 400 level, because I entered through direct entry. Will I be able to undergo the accessment under Vetassess since my Bachelor degree only covers three years. I'm going for PR as a statistician. Pls I need advice on this. I'm still within the age range of 25-32. I have been working in a federal government organization as a data processing officer since 2015 after I obtain my national diploma but I only did conversion with my bachelor degree to the post of statistician in August 2021. The ANZSCO code for statistician is 224113. I obtained my masters degree in Statistics from University October 2023 also. But I might not be able to use it for accessment since VETASSESS state that for a Statistician (Applicants must also have at least one year of highly relevant, post-qualification employment, at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years).pls advice me if I can use my Bsc that I got through direct entry and how to go about it. Mr tunlex01 and my other amazing boss .pls advice me |
