iamoyindamola: Even the King of the community confirmed the soldiers were sort of ambushed; like they knew they were coming, and launched attacks. That's a mercenary job. And in the body of the text, Akpabio said, "Not from the Niger Delta". The newspaper added "foreigners" for sensationalism. ---- Just because I criticise Akpabio doesn't mean you should shit on him needlessly. He's very educated, intelligent, was a practicing lawyer from a very well-read family, and you calling him dumb seems like another motive. Akpabio wasn't wrong this time. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Realtord43: You know why governments in power never really take the opposition seriously most times? It's because the opposition does bitter opposition. If you ask followers of Atiku and Peter Obi if anything good came off Buhari's government, most would say "no". It's barely ever been discussed even on this thread. We just shit on the government at the center for every reason, justified or not. I can point out good in the Buhari administration. I criticize Tinubu, but I can point out certain positives in his administration, the inflation regardless. If you ask other persons who identify with the opposition what good has been achieved so far, almost all can't point to one. NOT EVEN ONE. That's hátred. We criticise blindly because we are most stuck on identity politics - " Them bad, we good". Sometimes it's pointless justifying your actions to someone or people who would never see anything good in you. I criticise Akpabio. I was the first to shit on him. I'm the one who insistently opened up on some of the below-board activities he was up to as Governor even some person in and from Akwa Ibom still do not know. I didn't celebrate his emergence as Senate President because I knew he has an antecedence of poor money management, and being chummy with the President meant a Yes-man Senate. I still criticise him but won't criticize blindly. Same for Tinubu or Buhari or the state governor whom I didn't vote for. Akpabio wasn't wrong in the instance in question, but since he's of the APC and we are on the other side, we must shit on him. He's the Devil like all of his associates in the APC. What we have is a bitter opposition. Constructive criticism is the best way of being a critic. A good critic praises where necessary. 4 Likes 1 Share |

BlueRayDick: This is annoying. This story and the ones I posted don't tally. Then add the one Ibime posted which is saying 22 soldiers died as against the 16 that died. Shey to say army take time do their research we for know the proper truth. Now ibime's story is saying fake soldiers first showed up and then real and then fake soldiers and then real soldiers again. That's the first I'm hearing it and I go ask people to confirm the story first. |

iamoyindamola: What do you mean by me trolling? Akpabio wasn't out of line. The King and eyewitnesses stated the attackers seemed like mercenaries. Akpabio reiterated same and went to say he's assuming the mercenaries are from outside the Niger Delta. Newspaper used "foreigners" in headlines but quoted Akpabio who didn't mention it. You saw the sensationalism but went with the exaggerated headline regardless. The bitter and hateful opposition a lot of us practice isn't opposition. It's why some canvassed for a novice GRV to replace a relatively experienced Sanwo Olu because "we good, them bad". There are a lot of tech-savvy guys here, including yourself, but beside two or three of us, I'd never seen any comment anything good even with the quiet turnaround and upgrade Bosun Tijani is doing in his ministry. The day he'd ever be fingered for wrongdoing, those on " our side" would flood this thread with links and discussions. Bitter and see-no-good opposition isn't opposition. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

DissTroy: The bold is not true . Below is the kings own word confirming the attackers were people living among them .
Akpabio capped careless taking about mercenaries ; it was just the same way he claimed Governors got additional billions for palliative till Seyi Makinde called him out for it and he withdrew the statement . The Nigerian army already suggested the attackers were within the community; tge called it a communal attack and the king also confirmed same. And that's even the position of Federal government going by the tone of Tinubu's statement . 1 Like |

liveLongNprospa: I learnt ur governor was at the community yesterday and even his pressmen were not allowed to film with their camera . He had a close door meeting with the JTF commander in charge there . Truly the governor is a weak governor , Like he couldn't even get journalists access to the site so they can tell the true story of what is the current situation in the community 🤦♂️ |

BlueRayDick: Shey I tell you. I nor understand how governor nor fit stand e ground. If I have not seen Ibori at the very least do his best to quench the warri crisis, I'd say governors are weak. But there's already evidence for an even bigger event. I Don tire for all delta state governors and their selfishness towards peace. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:03pm On Mar 19 |
liveLongNprospa: I no even understand , maybe the governor has forgotten he's an executive governor and that he owes the people who voted him an explanation of current security situation of the community as the chief security officer of the state . Even Gaza and Syria wey be war zones journalists dey film . Governor dey within his own state wey crisis happen and dem no allow his pressmen film. And the governor no fit vex commot there or make an issue out of it. Smh |
