Monday Ubani To FG: Release Nnamdi Kanu, He Has Suffered Enough by hisexcellency34: 2:20pm On Mar 20
Monday Ubani, a former second national vice-president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).

Kanu is being held in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) on terrorism charges, and was denied bail for the umpteenth time on Tuesday.

Ubani said Kanu has suffered long enough in custody, adding that the best thing for all parties would be a political solution to the problem.

I have been one of the greatest advocates for the release and political solution to Nnamdi Kanu’s incarceration,” he said.

I am of the firm belief that he should be granted bail. I also aired the view that this matter can be politically sorted out by the president. That will be the end of the crisis.”

Asked to comment on Kanu’s claim that insecurity in the south-east will end within two minutes of his release, Ubani said those using Kanu’s continued detention to foment trouble may likely desist upon his release.

As to whether his release will automatically end all the insecurity crises in the south-east, I can’t say that with every bit of assurance,” he said.

But I know that there are those who hide under the Nnamdi Kanu incarceration to unleash mayhem on innocent people in the south-east. So, maybe those hiding under his incarceration to cause trouble may cease if he is released.

I believe he should be released from jail. He has suffered enough. We should be able to give a political solution to the crisis.

“I know that some of the insecurity crises can cease if he is released. But I may not be able to say that if he is out, every insecurity in the region will cease.

“If there is anything that Tinubu should do for the south-eastern region, it is to get Kanu released and probably find a political solution to his incarceration.”

The issue now is in the event he is released will that bring peace to the general populace.
Many of our distinguish soldiers were just massacred. We are not in banana republic to allow all sought of nonchalant behavior to continue to slide, the Soldiers killed recently have families and the rest, therefor justice must be done to avoid any future uprising. I rest my case.

He has not suffered at all. He's lucky he's in a sane country like Nigeria, he would have being dead and forgotten by now if he tried the shit he did with Putin.

So it has gotten to the level Alloy Agwu and Ejimakor have commissioned great igbos lawyers to speak out . We will be seeing more calls like this in the days and months to come.
My own is if freed on bail again won't he feel he is supreme and start misyarning again?
Will Ubani be his guarantor and be responsible for any misbehaviour ?

But really its time to find a political Solution and I believed PBAT will do it not only because its the right thing to do but to show igbos he doesn't hate them

Why do Igbos think that they are smarter than other Nigerians? Ubani and his cohorts begging for Kanu's release have not begged the terrorist to drop his seccessionist agenda which is a serious crime that no government tolerates all over the world.

What about the thousands of innocent lives lost as a result of his incitement, what about their families, what about justice for the slained whose crime was merely because they were uniform men, these are dependents, breadwinners brutally murdered for doing a legitimate job that has been putting food on their tables. Ubani should stop being a terrorist sympathizer and talk about justice for all the souls of the innocent ,lost as a result of Nnamdi kalu's recklessness abi something is wrong with this SANitary pad lawyer

Kanu controls idiots, so he will never be released. I don't support Kanu's release at all. If you listen to his last press statements, you will see the arrogance and the foolishness that has characterised his destructive behaviour.
He should be quickly convicted and jailed for life.

Did Sowore and Igboho instruct anyone to kill Soldiers? We shout Justice and Equity on one hand and tolerate injustice on the other. How can we ask commander in Chief, whose officers were killed on the instruction of one man to politically forget the death of his officers. That's injustice to the CinC and the family of the soldiers!

Go and release him yourself ewu.

Someone directed his followers to commit murder and arson. He said he will bring the head of the President. That's what this Igbo man is saying he has suffered enough.

Tinubu won't release the animal, you all can go to hell.

You promise to kee federal government if arrested, go and do that now ... no need for noise making and chest beating . Or go to where he is and bring him out..
Remember you also said there will be no election but we voted ,igbo people voted as well and we have a president .
Gone are the days you make noise and people take you serious, today it's just a mere exercise in futility

Since you guys see him as a freedom fighter, please let him fight to the end. Afterall, Nelson Mandela stayed for 27 years.

Whether u like it or not, Ohamadike must surely come out, it's just a matter of time.

Even in jail his name alone eclipsed that of Awolowo the rat cyanide taker and Jagaban put together.

I salute you the freedom fighter!

I thought with exit of Buhari and his Igbophobia things should be done differently. I know that Buhari is regretting why he didn't kill him in Kenya during his illegal rendition but God pass that gworo chewing ignoramus that has set the country backwards because he wanted Nigeria to become Homeland for Fulanis from Futa Jalon

Go and ask the Akunyili family if Kanu has suffered enough.
