These are cosmetic changes, Naira will depreciate back.. Until we reduce importation… Paying FX backlogs will always clog back.. If steps are not taken to. Especially grow what we eat.. |

vowiski: Errrmmm...we shouldn't be talking about reducing importation. Instead, we should be talking about increasing exports. I like that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is initiating talks with international bodies that oversee trades between countries and enlightening our agro-allied exporters to increase our FX from cash crop exportation. Many countries are rejecting our cash crops and the woman is trying to reduce that. This is what the FG should be doing. Also, encourage IOCs to harness Nigeria's gas reserves and increase crude oil production capacity. I don't understand why we don't meet OPEC crude oil production that the organisation had to slash our quota. If we are able to produce enough crude oil for local refineries and for export, there's no reason why the price of petrol won't drop in Nigeria when our modular refineries and Dangote refinery are fully installed to start producing petrol. The FG can also encourage Nigerians abroad to invest their money with them for a definite interest rate over a time period, which is payable in USD. With this, Nigeria will raise enough money to meet her obligations, improve USD liquidity (since we are obsessed with the currency) and crash the USD in the official and parallel markets. |

vowiski:we actually export more than what we import, the naira depreciation comes from floating the naira, money was spent heavily to subsidize the naira. Secondly those binance dealt with the naira and depreciated it daily. Whatever you see is the true value of Naira and only when investors knows the true value of your money, will they buy things from you, you can imagine some companies in the country sell their products and services with dollars instead of the naira, this is because the naira is sugarcoated with subsidy, now they can sell their goods and be sure they are getting the actual price. Subsiding everything in this country was the worst decision our leaders made, I pray they get it right this time 1 Like |

alimiadedayo1:you can check Nigeria's official import/export window. If you don't know the website, check on Google and Google will direct you to it, except you think Nigeria's official I/E site is fake, then I have no need arguing with you |
