joseph4sales: You will need like 3 days or more to get them fully charged with your intended solar panels. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by joseph4sales: 3:20pm On Mar 25 |
jonescosmos:Haaaaa, like 3days?? Can you please state the reasons for this? and what can be corrected |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 3:47pm On Mar 25 |
Pls a friend has this fabricated ice block making machine and he said it comes with 3 compressors. Anyone with such and has an idea of ow much current it draws? He wants to install an inverter system for it. |

joseph4sales: Why do guys buy tubular? I would had rather buy 50ah LifePO4 or scrap lithium ion batteries from laptops than spend a kobo on tubular. Tubular cost over 250k claiming 220ah ( deceitful) while 50ah cost 140k. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Valto(m): 4:05pm On Mar 25 |
dollarnaira:cheapest tubular is about 340k, highest about 450k my professionally coupled 12v 105ah 1,344kwh lithium battery with 100A Bluetooth bms is 350k to 400k, with over 10 to 12yrs lifespan. |

dollarnaira:How long will the lithium ion battery last compared to the tubular? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Uniquewise: 4:38pm On Mar 25 |
Drgreatone: It's the circuit breaker. Two pole type
|
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dollarnaira: 5:13pm On Mar 25 |
ksmart027:Not as LifePO4 but far better than tubular. My used lithium ion is going to 2yrs. Have you ever wonder why phone batteries are lithium? Depending on usage, most phone batteries do 3 to 5 years. Modern ups and some generators now come with lithium. E get why |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 5:21pm On Mar 25 |
Uniquewise:What's the size of ur inverter and configuration/size of ur panels? The 63amps might still serve u. This ur Schneider is looking different to what I am used to. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Oshomo12(m): 5:24pm On Mar 25 |
Valto: I remember a while back when I voiced against tubular, its makes no economical sense buying tubular batteries. This battery chemistry can only be found in Nigeria(Africa). The drama around it is too much. 1 Like |

Uniquewise: What's the size of solar panels on this breaker? This is an AC breaker, hope I am seeing well. This is not rated for DC |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Valto(m): 6:19pm On Mar 25 |
Oshomo12:imagine buying 4pcs of quanta 430k each =1.720m. @ 50% DOD about 4.8kwh. lifetime 3 to 4yrs. my 48v 5.3kwh lifepo4 lithium battery @90% DOD 4.7kwh. price 1.2m. lifetime 10 to 12yrs. the difference is very clear! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Please help as I am about to purchase a LiFePO4 battery and I need suggestions on which to go for as I’ve read on different thread on here how Felicity and Yohako are more of a scam. Suggestions are welcome… |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 6:41pm On Mar 25 |
The way this thread dey take drag down lead batteries . Not everyone starting up in solar can afford to buy lithium battery at the initial stage. Take it or leave it, lead acid batteries has more economical value. It's cheaper, if it has served you finish, it can be recycled and you get your small cash back. Tubular is flooding Nigerian market because they are cheaper. Mind you depending on how you use your lead battery, they can do up to 5yrs Before you sell 1 lithium who dey sell tubular don sell 15pcs There is a market they are aimed for. 7 Likes |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Valto(m): 7:03pm On Mar 25 |
Obnoxious2001:not true, as at this moment lithium is cheaper than lead acid. the average lead acid is 350k up, so how is it cheaper than lithium? 1 Like |

Valto: Can your battery be paralleled? Assuming one go for 48v 105Ah now, after sometime the person decides to buy another battery pack like 48v 100Ah. Can both battery be paralleled to get 48v 205Ah? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey(m): 7:34pm On Mar 25 |
TechGeek777: The sweetest part is parallel as you want, whether it same capacity or not. people are doing 48V, 100AH and 48V, 280AH. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 7:42pm On Mar 25 |
Valto:Average market price of lead battery in the market is 270k. This is cheap for people who are just starting. Like let me explain, there are more middle class people, trying to adopt solar... So lead batteries are easy to use for starter 3 Likes |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 7:56pm On Mar 25 |
Dam5reey: I know LiFePO4 can be paralleled but I wanted to know if there's provision(PORT) for his battery pack to be paralleled like using RJ Connector to parallel both batteries. @isangjohnson @valto |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey(m): 7:59pm On Mar 25 |
TechGeek777: You should ask for communication then not if they can be parallel or not. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by RickyM: 8:06pm On Mar 25 |
Obnoxious2001: Since there is no way to really figure out the true Ampere of a battery then it’s hard to even trust DYI as I paid a guy to make 24v 5kwh battery for me and it won’t even run my 110w freezer more than 7hrs which is just outright scam to me and that’s why I am looking to buy a ready made to add to this in parallel since I just got this last month. Trusting DYI has became an issue for me but yet still I believe there are true people out there. Do you care to help with Valto number? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by durodee(m): 8:13pm On Mar 25 |
Still popular because most new users don't know better, sellers offload what they have in store, most installers are quacks unwilling to update themselves or trouble shoot problems, common/cheap inverter clones in the market don't have a lithium profile etc etc. Lack of a Lithium profile/modifiable LVD in older inverters is a big issue for those moving into Lithium from Lead acid. Once the BMS on the Lithium kicks in, the inverter and the CC shut down, AND WILL NOT COME BACK AGAIN UNLESS THE BATTERY BMS IS MANUALLY REBOOTED. This meant that since most Ccs derive power from the battery (rather than solar input like some new Felicity CCs), no charging takes place!! in the meanwhile the CC and some inverters would have lost all settings you modified on it , reverting to factory settings! We have found a way round that though; just parallel any old set of Lead acid batteries (once they can still hold a little charge) and this ensures that even if the BMS LVD trips, the CC and inverter still has power and will start charging once power is available from the grid or sun comes up in the morning. At about 11.5v, 23v or 46v or thereby, the BMS is triggered on and the Lithium begins to charge. What happens to the Lead acid? Nothing much, just continues in its pathway of getting old. Lithium nko? the BMS takes the brunt of being used as a LVD but at least the user can benefit from the tremendous beauty of fast charging-load carrying capability of Lithium. My experience: Third year of such use, no issues whatsoever. Obnoxious2001: 3 Likes |

I just dy manage am, even though its usage is not convincing. Wish I cud praise lithium packs the way people are accorlading it on this platform. |
