Take this Lesson: 1. Dedicated a Hard cover workbook for writing. Remember to date each Writing. 2.Dedicated sometime, say 1hr in the night. 3. In the first page Write out(Number them) what you want God to do for you. Prayer points- for life. 4.You can formulate Topics like a pastor, and Research on it. Eg. IS ANY THING TOO HARD FOR GOD. As a heading, with concordance or search look for Verses that treats;Ask or Possible with God etc. 5.First take the Teaching of Christ in the Mount. Mathew 5. That is the Summary of the Gospel. 6. Read Romans the Epistle of Paul(first Pastor) and How he Overcame Sin in his own life. 7.Psalms Treat different situations in Life; make it an assignment, start from chap1 and classify them accordingly. Eg. Chap1-Lord Separate me unto thyself that I will Prosper.... Chap51-Forgive me Lord. Only Write out the chapters and what it Treats. Skip the ones that you do not Understand. 8. Among the Prophets; start with Isaiah. Write out the Promises of God and the Chapters Eg.Isaiah 45.Go before me Lord... 9. Now go for some insight in Hebrew. In that work book, Rotate across the books I stated and later introduce; Jeremiah,Other Books by Paul. Please Understand the teaching of Jesus Christ before you Venture into the teaching of Pastor Paul, because he classified some as : God's, His, for Babes and the mature. Study to learn how life issues are treated in the bible not just reading. God bless you. 1 Like |

Reading the bible like a novel or textbuk is not bad at all. The bible is full of power and spirit that it influences anyone who reads it constantly. U don't have to struggle to understand. It is good to read thru the entire bible not just once but continuosly for life. Oyedepo was asked how he manages to quote scriptures verbatim, he relied that he eats the word. Keep reading it until it becomes a habit. Information is the first step to understanding because you must know before you understand. If you're a beginner in word study, i advise you use a devotional...ODM is good. There also many other great devotional resources. Use them and be consistent. When you do it for a year, you'll be shocked that you must have gone thru the entire bible. Then that could fuel the desire to read cover to cover. I wish success. 2 Likes |

To understand the Bible, start by getting a simple & easy to understand one, such as Good News Bible. Read Genesis, Exodus, Prophet Isaiah (talked about coming of our Saviour). Read the New Testament Read Ecclestiaticus (known as Sirach). This is about way of life, advice on several things. You can also read about powerful women such as Ruth, Judith, Esther etc Just take your time & you will be amazed about what you learn. From the index, you can pick topic you like & you will see related Bible passages. Good luck 1 Like |

If you have the holy spirit, reading the bible won't be a problem, you would just love it. But let me look at your perspective, if you want to start reading bible, you can open a thread where some people post pure heresies about the bible, i bet you, you would be urged to go and do some research. For example i did not feel like reading the bible at a particular time until i opened a thread and saw where someone pasted that the bible said "Adam was from africa" with scriptural references, this day i opened by bible by force to do some research. I will just say, have this desire to know more about Jesus and your faith, this will lead you to learn more about the bible, if you are a new convert, try reading the new testament first before going old, the new testament relates more to you than the old testament, also pray before you start reading, another thing, be open to people of strange doctrines, you would want to by all means keep reading the bible. 1 Like |

Godly thread, for someone to think to that extent shows that the person is on the Lord side, therefore to meditate in word of God,you need to determine to do it by create time for it.Also concentrate on it as you do when you are hungry and thirsty. Then read at least three chapter everyday. Most importantly, pray to God for enable grace and invite Holy spirit to interprets his word into your heart.I thank God who gave me the grace to read from Genesis to revelation through which i am very vast in the word of God . 1 Like |

kendraloops:Where did you get the idea from that you are not to read the book exactly the way you read your textbooks and novels? The books contained in your bible were written by humans who spoke and wrote human language and thought the same as humans. So why do you illogically convince yourself that it is not common sense then to read the book written by them the same way you would books written by other humans and in human language? 1 Like |

Now that you've put it this way, makes sense. I was under the impression that you had to be in some sort of spiritual realm to be able to "hear from God" re what is written in the Bible. You have to be spirit filled. Kobojunkie: |

I'm sure you get my meaning. It's portrayed as some extremely holy activity that you can't comprehend or immerse yourself fully into, except you're in that "realm". I might be the one who misunderstood it for this though 😉. Kobojunkie: |
Re: How Can I Read The Bible Well? by Kobojunkie: 8:29pm On Jun 17 |
kendraloops:Yes, that is the part of the foundational scam that is religion. The book is meant to be digested the same way you would any other book you read. The book is best read the same way you would read through any story or epic and digested in the same way. No superhuman skills are necessary to grasp the details contained. One simply needs to abandon the lies of religion to focus instead of what is written. 1 Like |

kendraloops: If it is God you want to encounter through His word, that is a great project. I met a baba years ago, he was so versed in the Bible. I was amazed at his knowledge. He mastered his Bible so well that he could tell you what part of any page you would find what. I asked him how he came about this? He said he had read the Bible twenty - eight times. How do you do that, I queried. He just said take a good Bible ( I started with NIV, but now KJV), and start reading from Genesis to Revelation. Initially, it could be boring. Just read from Genesis to Revelation, one round after the other. After about three or seven times, you will see the Bible message dovetail from Genesis to Revelation. You will see the beauty if you let the Bible explain itself. This is my. counsel. Start today! It is beautiful. I got this immediately I became born -, again. Up till now, I find it difficult to use devotionals. Using devotionals is cool but produces lazy Christians. 1 Like |

kendraloops: Sleep is part of life Just. make sure you read a portion daily, when you get to Leviticus, Ezekiel, Romans, Hebrews, they look difficult, Songs of Solomon, erotic, Revelations weird. About six to seven rounds, they will be making sense But if you are 'promise only ' Christian you will not know anything in the Bible about the Bible. 1 Like |
