Energist:Which local textile industry will it boost when we local traders will now increase the price of our products to the extent that many people can't afford it? When Rice importation was banned, you see how the price of local rice soared so high. Las las, na the poor masses go suffer. |

The hypocritical EU and their stupidity, eeh! So they want to ban second hand clothing business with Kenya, but can't ban selling LGBTQ agenda to Africa. Accursed European White Pigs! God bless Russia and China for being an economic alternative to the accursed West. |

How about building African brands of clothing. Friends Jesus Christ loves y'all and he want you to accept him as your personal lord and saviour by giving your life to Christ, believing in him and repenting of your sins.remember tomorrow might be too late. Shalom 1 Like |

You people are not even serious. A country says they want to buy export of their own cloth. You who are a mere benefactor says otherwise. Don’t they have the right to export and import whatever they want? If they refuse to export, what’s Kenya’s issues with that? amiibaby: |

FutureFocus:...stil on stil, theres wots called comparative advantage. I mean, these clothes would b costlier wen produced here. A quality home-used(okirika) jeans in Ghana sells for, lets say 100 cedis(lets just say equivalent of N10k plus), such quality equivalent in new one can cost up to 300 cedis(over N30k), imagine producing such quality here, it wil cost even higher. |

Judolisco:Are you listening to those clowns One even said it will boost local production He probably didn't factor in the high cost of production, epileptic power supply and silly taxes that the producer will pay never even mind the kickbacks to various agencies Smh 1 Like |

That's the African mentality: they have little/no regards for the collective good but their individual monetary benefits. |

Re: Kenya’s Second-Hand Cloth Dealers Kick Against Proposed Ban By The EU by RecentHistory: 8:04am On Mar 27 |
LZAA: All of them were introduced during the civil war when Biafrans ran out of frogs and lizards to eat. Okrika was dropped at Okrika beach. It was dropped for free to Biafrans but unfortunately, Biafrans picked them and sold them to Biafrans. Okporoko was sent as aid from Norway. It was the head being dried and sent to your fathers instead of being thrown away. Biafran soldiers were sleeping with married Biafran women so the women could take stockfish back to their families. Palm oil was introduced into garri as an urgent aid to cure keashiokor ravaging Biafrans caused by lack of Vitamin A, and tocopherol and tocotrienol antioxidants. There is no history of Okporoko, Okrika and Stockfish in Igboland before the Biafran war. 1 Like 1 Share |

LZAA: It's about the fact that Okrika, Okporoko and yellow garri which are staples in your place are products of deprivation and starvation. Most of the Nsala, oha and various funny leaves you cook as soup were eaten by goats before the war. During the war, you first are the goats before eating what goats were eating. Check history. They weren't mentioned before the war. |
