I must commend you for your interest in farming. However, rearing Goats is a serious work. You have to be available for them always. Ensure their food is available. (If not, they will always break away from their house or rope)
I am not telling you this to scare you. But to prepare you for the task ahead.

Goat farming is lucrative. There are varieties of species of Goats in Nigeria. Some are local breed while other are foreign breeds from other African Countries.

The species you will go for depends on what you want to achieve in your farming. Even though, every farmer is farming to make profit. Some target their farm for Goats that will give good and large quantity of meat. While others will go for a specie that easily reproduce more Goats within a short periods of time.

Some Goats are usually big and they produce large quantity of meat. Some are not too big but they always give birth to multiple offsprings. This will increase their numbers within a short period of time.

To get good species of Goats. Go to Ruga Fulani (Fulani settlements). You will get good species of Goats there. If you have access to local animal markets along Nigeria/ Niger border, you will get the best foreign species of Goats there.
