imagine the quantityof steel rods that road is going to consume..

Now imagine that those rods are manufactured locally.. the jobs that would be created..

Government should be sincere about reviving the steel sector.. it can create millions of jobs and fetch the much needed fx..

What's Otunba Gbenga Daniel doing there with his ever smiling face? Anyway, he's an engineer like Dave Umahi.

I like the concrete road technology being used here. The roads will last longer being that the Lagos to Calabar route is essentially gonna pass through areas that have high water tables that would lead to the roads being quickly damaged.

At last, the long-awaited Coastal highway construction has kicked off. Kudos to everyone who made this happen.

Lagos to Calabar... It's full steam ahead!

I thought you guys are already praising Tinubu?

Why are you still soliciting for cheer from Otti fans?

Btw, when GEJ removed subsidy to place the country on a path of greatness according to what you all are parroting now. Cry cry baby, did you support him?

Have you been to the steel rod factories in Ikorodu? Government need not import any rod. We have locally made steels in Nigeria

There are pockets of steel mills around the country.. but their total output can't meet the demand of the country. I'm not even sure they can meet up to 15% of our steel needs.. that is why some are agitating for the Ajaokuta steel mill to be sincerely attended to by the government. We still rely heavily on imported steel.. Read the piece below:

I hope they don't abandon it immediately it crosses Lagos, Osun, Ogun. I don't trust these Yorubas again in anything.

If they can complete it, it would be masterpiece.

In the near future, Lagos State will be like a developed country in Europe right inside Nigeria with modern speed rail system, public and privately owned airports and seaports, modern water transport system, state-of-the-art infrastructure and monuments lorisirisi, you name it.. Some covetous ones have seen all that is coming, reason they are pushing so hard to bastardize the history and rich Yoruba culture of Lagos but God go shame all of them.

The would have been more useful building deep sea ports in each of the coastal cities and having freight movement from Lagos to calabar by sea , this will make the cost of freight cheaper.

Building coastal roads will duplicate the function of Lagos Benin expressway, increasing road maintenance costs deepening wrong utilization of funds and also limiting access to maritime economy for niger delta coastal, this is pure waste of scarce funds

LEAVE THE DIRTY OFONJA TO FINISH BUILDING TRAFFIC TO LAGOS.

LAGOS WILL CONTINUE TO BE A NO MANS LAND FOREVER.

THOSE COASTAL STATE HAVE ALL DEMANDED A FUNCTIONAL DEEP SEAPORT, BUT OFONJ WANT TO MONOPOLIES DEEP SEAPORT, INSTEAD LET THEM BUILD ROAD FOR CONTAINERS TO OTHER STATES.

IT IS WELL, SOONER OR LATER, TIME WILL BE UP AND TINUBU WILL VACATE THE AREA, DEEP SEAPORTS ACROSS ALL SOUTHER STATE WITH ACCESS TO ATLANTI OCEAN IS A MUST, FROM ONDO TO CROSS RIVERS.

More people will anticipate to use the railway line against the road. I guess it may be slightly expensive to road transport but more conducive and saves time.
