Obnoxious2001:Location is benin city. It does not come up at all wen connected to battery. It only comes up wen connected to solar pv/ nepa light. Works via this too sources but does not detect battery. Everyother thing works fine. Displays/blinks "Bp" on the inverter screen. Its an ipower max 3.5kva inverter. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 9:31pm On Mar 29 |
kristien4: Bp means no battery present. Does the battery have BMS? |

Is the manual available? What does bp mean |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by kristien4(m): 9:55pm On Mar 29 |
Obnoxious2001:Yes hybrid inverter |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by kristien4(m): 9:56pm On Mar 29 |
Obnoxious2001:I've gone thru the manual. No mention of "bp". |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Drgreatone: 9:59pm On Mar 29 |
kristien4:Av u tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery? If this doesnt work, then likely inverter battery point is damaged and wud need repairs. Most inverters usually av a reverse polarity protection which sud av kicked in with urs. |

Drgreatone: If you are tech savvy I can remotely help you fix it. But if e pass you, you will need to take it to the mechanic |

Trippledots:If the seller doesn't open up to me on why he's selling 12v 200ah/220ah LA battery at that price, I would be scared. There are a lot of used batteries and other appliances in the markets that are well polished and packaged to look like new. At this critical time, buying products from a known/reliable source that's willing to take full responsibility of the products throughout the warranty periods is what we need. 1 Like |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by jonescosmos(m): 11:37pm On Mar 29 |
kristien4: First disconnect the battery and read the battery voltage across the battery terminals. If you get the reading, see if it meets minimum startup voltage for your Inverter. If yes, Battery is OK. If no reading or reading extremely lower than nominal voltage, battery is gone. If you have multiple batteries, try to read them individually. If all the batteries checks out, open up your inverter and see if it has an inbuilt fuse, or any other blown components, sniff around the inverter mainboard and feel strange smell from, if yes, confirm that the fuse is OK or blown out. If the fuse is blown replace it and try your connection again. 1 Like |

Abbeyb1ack: So I finally disconnect my inverter and took it out for repair.....(nt knowing dere are steps and precautions) I reconnect the inverter back but my charge controller no ON I called my installer....he said he will get back to me I just hope I neva spoil another tin |

Abbeyb1ack:If it was just the overload that shutdown it down, everything including the charge controller should turn on when you remove the loads. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Abbeyb1ack: 7:48am On Mar 30 |
isangjohnson: Shld i say overload or plugging something too heavy into the system But the issue now is I disconnected the battery and other wire connected to the battery nd took the inverter for repair After repairing I connected all the wires back to the battery But my charge controller didn't ON only inverter working |

Good morning house.. Sorry to bother you guys.. I noticed these ports on my inverter and got me curious what's it's used for.. There also one like this on the charge controller.. RS232 and BMS/RS485 Thanks

isangjohnson: No gimmicks, to the best of my knowledge. Just that it's a new name so they had to drop low to get customers. |

Abbeyb1ack:Sorry about the ugly incident. Give them the charge controller to check it for you. This is one of the reasons we should protect our investment via fuse, breaker, over voltage/under voltage protective devices. Just this morning as I was trying to connect a customer's battery to my system for testing, a positive wire mistakenly touch a negative wire and there was a very big spark. The next thing I noticed, the breaker between the inverter and the battery trip off, even when the pv and the inverter were already turned off. The inverter input switch trip off as well. When I finished the connections, I switched them on and everything was ok. If the system was not well protected, probably the inverter would have received a hit. 2 Likes |

Good morning, I want to get batteries for a 2.5kva or 1.5kva hybrid inverter. I just noticed that two 220ah batteries give a total of 440ah at 594k while four 150ah batteries gives a total of 600ah at 580k. By my local man logic, the 150ah option seems better to me cus I get about 160ah more battery capacity. Pls, those who are experts, is this my logic correct and can I go for this 150ah option? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by isangjohnson: 11:05am On Mar 30 |
Trippledots:Can we see the datasheet of this inverter? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by isangjohnson: 11:13am On Mar 30 |
adibo:Your analysis may be wrong. 2 pcs of 220ah will give you 2.64kwh dod and 4 pcs will give you 3.6kwh dod. Choosing between 24v system and 48v system will depend on your loads and your budget. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 11:26am On Mar 30 |
adibo:In actual sense, the 150ah is a better option considering that battery life span will be higher. however, there is an overhead cost in getting solar panels/means to charge them effectively. |
