Sorry . Na so so fraud we dey see for Lagos government hand. OP, are you aware Tinubu also owns a diagnostic centre there? It's called a BT( Bola Tinubu) diagnostic centre. You dare not go elsewhere for your diagnosis cos the report will be jettisoned. That's another fraud on its own. You must pay any amount they bill you, which is always triple what's obtainable outside.

Some people don't see anything bad about this until their relation finds their way into their net. Lagos will be free someday. This, I know. The mess isn't only in the health sector. It cuts across all the sectors in Lagos. Dear mod, you can ban me because I expose this mess for all I care. Nobody can silence me. I've been banned several times here for saying the truth. Tinubu is a slave driver. Lagos must be free.

Luth operate the same system.

Just that in luth once you donate the blood your patient will get it before going for surgery.

After finding donors you will pay for screening 13k per paint which will be added to your bill the last time I was there.

Getting blood is always a terrible experience in any public hospital in Nigeria the workers there are all corrupt but once you can bribe you have no probs.

This is typical of Nigerians, corruption runs in our blood, but we only blame the government for everything

Government is not responsible for everything wrong in this country, public members are also part

Yโ€™all should stop using this shitty line. Itโ€™s becoming stale.

Humans are by default selfish, capitalist and animalistic (weโ€™re higher animals after all).
The only way to tame these traits is by having a solid system that rewards good and punishes misconduct. With consequences for actions (good or bad) people adjust their ways accordingly.

Now who has the power, resources et al to create and implement these reliable systems?

Hold your government accountable.

Bros because you donate blood no mean say you no go pay for blood Abeg no risk you person life.

That's why they call it Blood Donation!!!

I had a situation back in the days where I donated blood but the patient I took to the hospital used over 13 packs of 2 pints of blood to recover after surgery.

Pray that mercy of God speaks for your sick ones, because at times you will spend all the money only to loose them.

So if your loved ones recover in the hospital, just be happy and hope you will not have such traumatic event again.

Hmmm.

Well, even if you donate in general hospitals you have to buy blood when you need it Seems it's the screening fee etc etc. Technically seems you are paying for the screening not necessarily the blood itself.

All pregnant women are to get someone to donate.
Paying someone to donate for you is at your own discretion, if we have more willing and fit donors maybe we can have a better system.

The donation is supposed to guarantee availability of blood when you need it

The availability when you need might be another issue entirely, generally when you have donated you should be guaranteed blood.

People should be more enlightened to donate blood willingly. Lots are scared,
Most will only do it for a fee.

Then people should not be forced to donate blood Until when they need it.

Why should I donate blood in advance and then have to buy blood again when it is required?

Yes I paid but it was worth it .

yes you paid - because you have the disposbal cash to do so
so what about everyone else?

this is the story of nigeria in general and the story of lagos civil service in particular

Lagos state introduced proper VIO inspection of vehicles
i went to the center , queued for the whole day, ignored the touts offering to help me jump the queue
when it was my turn they mae up some story that they were done for the day

the next time i just engaged the person who sorts my car papers, dropped an additional 5k and i was done. was my car in good order - oga don't worry, you are done.

95% of those bastards in civil service are out to monetize every service by any means necessaryget

It called Blood Donation, so nothing for EFCC or ICPC to look into.

If your loved one needs surgery and they require blood, you have to pay or buy enough quantity of blood to facilitate the surgery

This is not peculiar to only LASUTH alone. It is very common in almost, if not all public hospitals in Nigeria.

I've experienced this first hand in the hospital in my state. I donated 3 pints of blood for my sister but they gave flimsy excuse and we still paid small money on top.

The problem is the corrupt officers who always take advantage of this "life and death" situation.

I donated another 3 pints of blood about 3 months ago and really hope it saves an innocent person's life.

A problem exacerbated by the fact that we don't have a efficient blood banking system plus people are not willing to donate blood freely, it must always be at the last minute or for some money

Welcome to Lagos, "city of excellence in exploitation"๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
I recently had my aunty there for stroke treatment and I was shocked by the brazen audacity of the workers; from selling drugs, water and other medical needs by the patients, that's not an issue in itself but you're compelled somehow to buy it there especially the drugs and water......... angry angry angry angry angry

It also happened to me personally.. my wife was admitted on emergency ward.. A and E ward for an Emergency C-S . We got admitted. I was asked to 1st go to blood bank to donate 2 pints of blood.. it was hectic ๐Ÿ˜ณ getting a donor.. I cried for help and one guy promised to help me get a donor. At 20k per pint.. After donating and getting an acknowledgement receipt.. when the time reached for me get the blood I donated from LUTH. LASUTH BLOOD BANK. IT WAS SERIES OF ONE FIGHT TO ANOTHER..
Lastly thank to God Almighty my wife came out from LUTH alive.. it was a very bad experience and we lost the twins.. to cut everything short......
I have even some videos of the recorded arguments I have with them ..

I still stand by what I wrote

The whole issue is exacerbated by a scarcity of blood. That's why hospitals are asking for two pint of blood, they are in essence using it to relieve the shortage of blood in their banks

If more people donate freely, none of this would happen

Lol this is common in most teaching hospitals. My dad was once a victim when he had surgery in one popular teaching hospital in the North. We donated two pints of blood prior surgery and just when the surgery was near, the hospital claimed it was only one pint of blood that is remaining and the other has being already administered to him. I was shocked to my marrows when they even brought documentation of the day my dad was administered the blood and time too. Of course my dad was never administered any blood cos we were with him 2,4,7 on his hospital bed. Even the said date the hospital claimed they administered the blood on him, i was with my dad through out that very day and no blood was administered. The truth is most doctors working in public hospitals also have their private hospitals, they steal these blood pints to sell to their client in their private hospitals.

I never use anything government health because the fraud there is endemic. I would rather pay 500k for the surgery in a private hospital than pay 120k in a government hospital

A friend has bought countless numbers of blood, done lab tests even asked to repeat lab test that the result is still awaited. In 7 days over 3 Million gone. It is not even the money but the demand for blood, plasma and expensive drugs in excess, some of the drugs get stolen and the rest becomes of no use you have to take it home. Very wicked people

Do you know how deteriorating the cycle is moving?. So I was on my way to a friend intro in Ilorin just last month, and we stumbled a partial one way road block on the express way manned by mobile police men, I was shocked to see this men with a point of sale, (POS) machine. The people we were traveling together didn't seem to be as surprised as I was. Perhaps, they've been seeing this from time immemorial.

Well it's a first timer for me, and I was quite shocked this serial exhaustion going on on Federal roads has been left unchecked for most of the time. angry angry
