OyoTunjiUSA:Nigeria is a HELL HOLE. A druggie president whose identity is still a mystery runs that hell hole. What is there to be proud about Nigeria? A country filled with demented people whose innovation are only opening religious houses everywhere. Your future there has been looted by pot bellied ex-convicts,. from your president, to chief of staff to senate president. Every 4 years you elect criminals to rule over you and you cowards wants praises. What is there to praise in a country that criminality thrive? I've told you frail emotional dimwits to stay off my post. I am here for common sense logical humans and not morons. You must be a boring clown. Don't derail this thread and stop talking about Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

fearlessfang: You are the biggest fool I have ever encountered. “H” factor or not, sense is not in your empty skull. Reply as usual because I have time, you birdbrain nincompoop! If you were as successful as you claim to be in the US, you wouldn't be here bragging about nonsense. I've followed this thread and noticed you write like the dimwit you are. Just because others have a different opinion on a subject doesn't warrant you insulting them. Nobody forces you to give advice on NL, so shove your egotistical arrogance where it belongs: in the trash! |

Rdfactor: Several other people (Nigerians, of course) have degrees from those countries. I was there on a fully funded scholarship sponsored by the European Union. In Germany, tuition is mostly free at public universities and institutes, but you need to pay what is called the semester fee (which is very cheap and vary across places) if you are a self-funded student. On the other hand, if you are a scholarship student (e.g DAAD, ERASMUS, and other government and departmental scholarships), you need not worry about any of those. Therefore, for masters, you typically apply directly to the program with/without scholarship—no need to contact a potential supervisor or PI. However, the PhD application is quite different as they are mostly advertised positions in most cases except places like EMBL, and Max Planck Institutes. In addition, most PhD adverts in Germany (Europe, by extension) require having a master's degree. You can check out advertised positions on the Xing website. Tips would include preparing a very strong application package (in all ramifications) and following instructions provided in the adverts. NB: Having a scholarship in Germany gives you an upper hand over self-funded students when it comes to visa appointments and approvals. Self-funded students need to wait for at least a year before they can get an appointment at the German embassy. I'm not sure if that has changed. But as a scholar, you would easily get an appointment and have a smooth interview. Norway recently implemented a policy that requires students outside the EEA to pay tuition fees. Very few funded masters, but all their PhD positions are funded and advertised on the schools´ websites, and you would typically be an employee of the school. You can also see adverts from several universities in Norway on the Jobbnorge website. I hope this helps 3 Likes 1 Share |

BigIyanga:Another clown. I applied for my U.S. visa both in Mexico and Canada. Tell me how I proved home tie with that country? You only need to prove home tie with your country of citizenship. When you are applying for visa outside your country of citizenship or residence you do not need to prove home tie to that country 2 Likes |

fearlessfang:eSoyinka, So as a first time applicant, you applied for your US visa in Mexico while living in Naija or you renewed your US visa in Mexico and Canada? You really need to go back to Naija application 101. Dont put out your ignorance on 3-d yet.. season it with maggi, knorr and suya spices… 😂😂 1 Like |

Somatohadidas: This is detailed. Thank you so much. I thought as much, you went through one of the EMJD programs. The rule is still the rule: getting a visa appointment if you’re self funding at the German embassy take time, except you have funding, or you’re a recent first class graduate God bless you 2 Likes |

fearlessfang: I’m sorry but this is wrong! Or Do you mean you were already in Canada or Mexico studying, and you then apply for US F-1 visa, and of course attended the interview there, or you basically had to fly from Nigeria to Canada just for the interview , without having to show any home tie Or you were basically renewing? If you were renewing , then you’d be right! But applying fresh, and you had to go to Canada to have ur interview, it might be sufficient to clarify this so that people won’t get confused 1 Like |

Rdfactor:This is what you don’t understand. Last fall, two of my friends did their fresh first time interview in Cameroon. PhD Utah and PhD RIT. Their visa was both approved. I have friend who did his interview during his visit to UK for F-1, got it approved. I renewed both of my visa in Canada and Mexico. Now tell me, how did we all prove home tie to that country? |

fearlessfang: Well, I guess it works sometimes. Just saw this on Reddit from a nepalis who gave his f-1 interview in India cuz there were no appointment in Nepal at that time. And he was actually approved. But then, most people online , quora, reddit advised against visa shopping as they claim it’ll most likely lead to denial CC: Biglyanga, OyoTunjiUSA, I can see you differ on this too, just like me, so I thought of copying you. Hello please, I am finding it hard to get universities for fall 2025, I am interested in public health at masters level and I do not want to apply through SOPHAS. Will be glad if anyone can suggest universities that are easy to apply to. Thanks |
