DIVINEEVIDENCE: And you believe that it's only ewedu soup that Yoruba have? At what point did egusi become igbos' soup because you don't even grow melon in igboland. How come you're claiming ownership of what you're buying from other land 🤔 3 Likes |

benebaby77: ALL THAT SHIT YOU POST IS CRAP. IT IS INACCURATE AND WRITEN BY PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT LIKE TO LAY CLAIMS TO THINGS. ANSWER THIS QUESTION, WHICH SOUP DO YORUBA COOK THAT REQUIRES THE LEVEL OF DETAIL YOU GET IN EGWUSI? HAVE YOU SEEN THE REST OF IGBO SOUPS AND THE DETAILS? Y ARE THEY IDENTICAL TO EGWUSI? |

Noneroone:It is a lie you're telling by saying Egunsi soup originated from Ibo land . Egunsi is known across board from south to north, east to west, different culture have different way of preparation, adding what they like or not to it , it can cooked alone with or without oil or vegetable oil. One can add vegetables, okra etc |

waternogetememy: You better don't go there so that you don't expose your people's n@kedness to the world. What your people were eating before and varieties of foods introduced to them thereafter are well documented, and this can cause you serious embarrassment. So, hold it there. |

Alexis11:Let me also add that even what they call ogbono is not only an Igbo thing, but, my opinion is it has only been popularised by them: they don't solely own it. It is called àpọ̀n in Yoruba. My guardians who never lived outside our villages in Osun State used to prepare it once a while and fed me and other children with it. Àpọ̀n is derived from òro fruit. There are varieties of òro and we were taught how to identify the ones whose seeds are best for our àpọ̀n soup. Have you ever heard a Yoruba saying that goes thus: 'ẹ jáwọ́ ni àpọ̀n tí kò yọ̀, ẹ lọ gbé omi ilá kaná'? Because drawing àpọ̀n shows good quality. Someone can even insult you if your face is squeezed and stern this way: ' A bí ojú dídì bí í ọbẹ̀ àpọ̀n'. We prepared it in our own way and would certainly add egusi to it. There is no kind of swallow it would not make a fantastic experience. 3 Likes |

Egusi is Yoruba soup. If ANY other tribe can show evidence that they started cooking egusi before Yorubas then I will change my mind. Until then, egusi is a Yoruba name for a Yoruba soup. 1 Like

Bulldozer90: You people have now added cultural appropriation into your long list of thievery . Ogbono is Edo delicacy made from the seeds of bush mangos. Okro is farmed mostly in the north and was introduced by Europeans into Nigeria. In the US they refer to it as lady's fingers. Egusi that some of you are lying through your teeth here claiming it's your delicacy is from the middlebelt with the Igala , Ebira, Idoma and Tiv people who cultivate the melon plant . Can you barefacedly lie that you guys own any of these delicacies when not one of the main ingredients of Egusi , Okro and Ogbono is not found or farmed in your SE? Jesus you people are really something else 2 Likes |
