missjekyll: What you're saying is illogical. Christians believe Muslims are going to hell and Muslims think Christians are going to hell, for being unbelievers/heathens etc etc. Does that mean Christian doctors should be banned from treating Muslims or Muslims should be banned from treating Christians on the basis of a blanket assumption that they will be unable to treat them well? Even the example you're citing doesn't gel with your claim. Did Jesus interacting with offenders mean that he didn't consider them offenders? I don't share the guy's views but the argument he's making about the profound discriminatory effects this will have against religious people is valid, and as we have seen time and time again policies like this that start always extend into more thought policing and fascism down the line. 6 Likes |

Goodenoch: While i cannot speak for other churches ,catholics do not teach that Muslims will go to hell, if I remember correctly. That would be arrogant, wouldnt it? I still remember catechism. Just to correct the records for anyone reading. Obviously, he did not consider them offenders.(remember how he wouldn't condemn the adulterous woman) He saw them as people with not irredeemable flaws. This gentleman made some homophobic remarks on Facebook which he said were based on his Christian beliefs. University expelled him. He won on appeal 5 years ago. But his new would-be employer found the case and terminated him which is what this new case is about. If I findout my doctor has recently expressed racist anti-immigrant views on Facebook, I would be looking for another doctor no matter how much he swears he is not biased. |

Lexusgs430: We need to share money advice here too. Before you open an ISA, you will need to clear all your debts then save up 6 months of your monthly expenses in an easily accessible account then work out your long term plan then and only then open an ISA. This is because you need to let that money rest in there for a long time (5-10 years) inorder to enjoy compound interest. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Hello guys pls my friend needs help π. His insurance was done by a 3rd party who claimed to be a broker. He realized after a year that the broker claimed that he had 8 years NCD in the UK instead of Nigeria. He decided to search for another insurance quote with his real details. The current insurance company mailed hi that they have initiated cancellation of his insurance based on false information. They also said it would be reported to other agencies. He quickly paid for another insurance, quite high, though. Kindly advise on how to get a reasonable cover. He has close to 2 years UK license with 8 year NCD from Nigeria |

missjekyll: Going by the writeup, the guy does not discriminate against LGBTQ, he only has a different view, just like you and would not promote it just like you would not. Everybody should be allowed to stick with their views, none should be forced on each other and employers should not discriminate against anti LGBTQ just as they should not discriminate against pro LGBTQ. As a service provider, I will be professional in dealing with my clients irrespective of their sexual orientation, if the client demands to be attended to by only pro LGBTQ personnels, that's his/her business. Just like saying hospitals should not employ male gynaecologist because some pregnant woman prefer to be attended to by female gynaecologist. I put it to you, if you are the judge, you will award the case in favour of the guy because you don't want to start a situation where all job applicants must promote LGBTQ before they get employed. 5 Likes |

Iyeura: His problems are now multifaceted....... - He might be issued with a CIFAS...... - He needs to disclose to all insurance companys, that he had a previous policy cancelled (details would already be uploaded on the MIB)........ - If he dishonestly does not make a full disclosure, he stands the risk of having future insurance policies, declared null & void (even with a live claim in process)...... Never use an insurance broker, they might save you one penny today, but would cost you Β£15,000 tomorrow.......π NB: Does he have a NCD certificate from Nigeria....... |

missjekyll:I do not know the ful details of the comments you alleged that he made but th fact that he said it's a sn should not mean that he will not treat others equally. That story you quoted, remember Christ said to the woman "Go and sin no more" so drawing parallels with this story, christ would have been cancelled too for considering the woman a sinner because we can't trust him to treat "adulterers" equally. 3 Likes |

Jesus's commandment is clear, there is your neighbour, go love them just as you love yourself. There are no exceptions. none. Gentleman claims he is homophobic because he is a Christian. How does that fit into this commandment? #scratching my head. Genuinely asking a question for clarification. Viruses: |

Lexusgs430: Did you see this lexus? Apparently not one fundmanager beat the market out of 2000 over 5 years. Index funds did beat the market consistently. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/02/business/stock-market-index-funds.html To anyone interested in index funds, I recommend "my little book of common sense investing" by J. Bogle. forgot to add lexus, in the US Members of Congress must declare their stock trades within 1 month of trading them. Because they sit on committees which make decisions that ultimately affect stocks, they can trade stocks based on this information. It should be illegal of course but they have refused to close this loophole. There is an app that allows you to mirror their trading . They also consistently beat the market. The risk is that you will be trading based on 1 month old information. ( I have forgotten the name of the app, sorry people . It's still available for download) You can tell, I had a rubber-neck, during my schooling days ........ππ[/quote] Did you see this lexus? missjekyll: Unfortunately, the court will not use Jesus's commandments to judge, the case will be judge on the basis of discrimination. Has he discriminated against LGBTQ or he respects them but has his own views and beliefs which he will rather promote? But in case we want to digress, this is the new commandment from Jesus: βA new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you." The rationale behind this is that some people don't love themselves e.g transgenders, so if they love others like themselves, it's trouble because they hate themselves. Also, I haven't yet read where he claimed to be homophobic, what I read is his expression of views and beliefs which can be different even in the midst of love. 1 Like |

missjekyll: This is still poor, strawman logic. You're choosing to focus on an irrelevant point because at the end of the day the the Catholic Church still considers some people sinners. The crux of the issue - should people be prevented from taking up jobs in any place where they might interact with people whom their religious beliefs categorise as sinners? It's a simple 'yes' or 'no' question but we know you'll prevaricate and not actually answer it because doing so will expose how dangerous it is to insinuate that people cannot be bankers if some of their customers will be people they disagree with religiously; and the same for bus drivers, nurses, lawyers, and every other profession that involves human interaction. Also, can you spell out exactly what his 'homophobic' statements were? Just because you tag '-phobic' to something doesn't mean it is genuinely offensive, untrue or a valid ground to violate someone's free speech rights, especially when a court has declared that he did not break any law, or did you miss that part? 2 Likes |

Please make you na save me oooo. I have car insurance with Marshmallow since May 2023. Someone hit my car on March 5 and I made a no fault claim. The other insurance coy has paid me and I requested Marshmallow to cancel my insurance. Since march 10, they have been dilly dally and I keep following up just 25 March, they came back to me that they have got a response from their claim dept that my non fault claim has been settled and that they will inform another dept to cancel my insurance. Since then I haven't heard anything despite several follow ups. Now they wanted to take another premium subscription from the DD and I blocked it sharply. Please how do I handle this case? Who should I report them to? They seem to be fraudulent and I notice they usually market only the new immigrants on their Facebook ads. My wife insurer app has a cancellation button, this Marshmallow does not even have so you are at their mercy to cancel. People should stay away from them oh Note; The reason for requesting to stop the insurance is because the vehicle was deemed a total and I have collected money for the preloss value. Thank you 1 Like |

Viruses: Where did Jesus write on Facebook about the flawed people he met? Where did he condemn them or shame them ? Instead , he went over to them, had chats, ate with them so much that people called him friend of sinners. How would he have treated LGBTQ people today? I don't think he would have behaved differently. What do you think? |
