From what I heard, the increment is only applicable to those on Band A. Band A customers are those customers who receive power for a minimum of 20hrs per day. Band A: 20 to 24 Hours supply Band B: 16 to 20 Hours supply Band C: 12 to 16 Hours supply Band D: 8 to 12 Hours supply Band E: 4 to 8 Hours supply (not that I'm in support of the increment though, this is just to shed more light on the issue) 5 Likes |

socialmediaman: You are doing comparison and your brain refused to tell you the percentage of that 24hours light for the minimum wage in the US. Electricity bills is less than 10 percent of the minimum wage in the US while you are asking if we can pay about 600 percent of minimum wage as electricity bill in the country. lexy2014: How can it be available when a nation of 200 million people is still struggling to produce 12GW? The sector requires massive investment on infrastructure and these investors will not enter an industry where the Nigerian state will sell cheap electricity to its people. Read up on NESCO in Jos and Ossiomo in Benin. Their clients pay premium to enjoy 24/7 light. https://www.nesconigeria.com/ 1 Like |

This is a joke. Running my generator on-demand for 30-days will not amount to that sum. I'd rather invest that amount in a solar setup and be totally off-grid that. That is almost the average light bill in a developed country on paltry third-world wage. 5 Likes 1 Share |

LeopardX: China's total installed electric generation capacity is 2.92 TW, spread across renewables (40%), coal and nuclear energy. That's 2,920,000 megawatts! This is a country that was poorer than Nigeria and most of the world in 1976 when Mao Tsetung died and Deng Xiaoping took over. 9 Likes |

aieromon:I think we're all ready to pay. In this age of low energy appliances why would a house be using up to 2kva they can't pay for? It's not about wasting what you can't pay for, it's about getting responsible for what you use daily. They're Led bulbs as low as 15watt that could be use in every building. Some people have this habit of putting light on everywhere in the house like they're everywhere Everytime. The tariff should be charged and prepaid meter distributed so people will be well disciplined. Modified Just seeing the minimum wages lol. Tinubu wan to kill us o! Different minimum wages but same NEPA bill lol 3 Likes 2 Shares |

When the govt wants to cheat Nigerians, they begin comparing it with the US standard but if it's what will benefit the masses they will not compare anything and they won't do it. There is work in the US. Where is the work here? US senators do not pad budget but it's done here. Is there tax refund here just like the US? Good roads, medical treatment are absent here. The govt of the US pays social brnefit but in Naija it's oyo. Can a man whose educational records are questionable be elected president? The answer is no. I dey laugh 6 Likes 1 Share |

Make una no vex o... If the tariff for those in band A is increased, I believe it's because they WILL BE PROVIDED up to 20hours light per day Now, in a situation they don't get up to that number of hours per day, is there a compensation for them or can they sue PHCN and win, because that's the basis on which they're paying that much? 2 Likes |
