The embassy determines the rate. Click on the link below to view details.

Phraser:
Hello, guys. Does anyone know if GTB has updated the visa fee price? The last time I checked, it was 333,000 naira. Since they last updated it on March 1, I was thinking that they might do the same on April 1 and adjust it to fit the current exhange rate.

Hoping to hear from y'all. Thanks.

PhD or MSc admission Each univ has its own requirements and timeline.

liliberth:
Is it hard to get admissions with USA universities, cos I know with UK it's fairly easy.

Hi! Write to each of the schools and inquire about the status of your application, it does not hurt!
I've done that since 2 weeks now bro.

Please who can link me up with a directory here on this nairaland thread to USA SCHOOLS I can apply to for masters program. It’s time to begin to try my luck. God bless everyone here

I doubt if your deposition to the question is a major concern. However, you can put any date between earliest admission date and program/school start date, preferably any date one to two weeks before program start date.
This actually makes sense, I appreciate

Good day everyone,

Please y'all should enlighten me on this issue.
I got my Visa fee around October last year (2023) and scheduled my appointment for Feb 2025.

Does that mean my MRV receipt will still be valid till the date choosen or not ?

I'm asking this question because it's duration is a year and am somehow confused.

Hoping to see early date thou.

Hi please I will be glad to get your opinions on this issue. I am. Ghanaian and I'm married. I am in my early 30s. I got my b1/b2 visa in 2023. The reason of the first visit was for a conference. I indicated I will be spending 10days in my ds-160 form however I spent 3 weeks thats 21 days. I later on in the year went to the uS in December same year for the Christmas and New year holidays. For that I spent 4 weeks.
At the time I was entering the US for the second time I had already received admission for law program from two schools. But I still returned after my vacation and came back to apply for my F1 Visa. Here in Ghana you can use dropbox to change from b1/b2 visa to f1 which I did because I still have a valid us visa for four more years remaining.
I have a full tuition scholarship of $45,000 but i and my father are sponsoring the remainder of my other living expenses, fees and books which amounts to $26,000.
But when I did the dropbox the embassy asked for only my I-20 with no other supporting documents to be attached whether admissionor scholarship letter. Two weeks after the submission I received a refusal under 221g asking to schedule a follow-up interview.
Please I would like to find out what possible questions I should prepare for and if there's any red flag in my history I should prepare for.

I have a good job and good educational history. I already hol dan MBA from Ghana and I truly attended a conference, I have attendance certificate to back my claim.
Kindly help me with any Contribution
.

Hey 🤠

*** All hope is not lost because rejection under 221g is a temporary refusal, and the probability of your application being completely rejected based solely on section 221(g) are not very high.

1. I want to think that you kind of pointed out one of the consular reasons for your temporary F1 refusal in your last paragraph. You have a good job and good educational history . Why opting for another academic sojourn in the United States ?

2. You are doing well in Ghana and went for conference in the USA ( I want to think your present job was used as one of your ties to Ghana) , and all of a sudden you processed Law admissions in the USA while you are coming from a business background.

3. Is your present job in Ghana related to Law practising ? Are the schools which gave you the Form I 20s accredited enough ? Are they private institutions which gave unauthorized I 20s ? I want to think those ' re the reasons the embassy retained your Form I 20 for further verification.

4. Okay, let's agree you passed the above marks. Why is your present employer not standing as your sponsor ? The USA consulars knows the easiest USA visa types towards Permanent Residency (F1 visa one of the top rated) and hence, the consular might deduced that your academic intention is not genuine. It might be based on your plan to work towards USA PR which your present B1/B2 can't facilitate for you.

5. You kinda overstayed your B1/B2 visa once . Be ready to explain that.

Best Wishes 🙏

Mrv first then gather your Sevis fee next. If you pay Sevis via Western Union you will get an instant update. Pay your mrv so you can quickly get to finding an appointment date.

Thanks a lot.

After attempting to schedule an appointment date, I get this message at the end of the prompts "Your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You will receive an email once your request is approved." But I did not get to select any appointment date throughout the process. What does this mean for me please? Is it that I will be matched to an available slot by them and contacted then? or They will then give me the option to pick a date at a later time? I am not even sure I understand what just happened.

They’ll send you an email once you’re approved then you’ll be able to see the date box to choose a date after entering your Mrv number

The reason you got a 221G is because you can only do a drop box for thesame class of visa.

F-1 and B1/B2 serve different purpose.

221G is not a refusal per so, it is more of an RFE, either they want further evidence, investigation or they will like to speak with you. Outright denial is 214b. 221G will state what is required of you.

Don’t fret, you’ll get your visa approved. Go with your I-20 and a visa interview will be done for F-1 visa for you.

NB- Be ready to prove to them why you need a second MBA.

Your MRV fee valid for one year means- You have one year to use it to book an appointment, once you use it to book an appointment it’s gone. So nothing like expiry again.

Since you have booked an appointment with it, nothing like expiry again, so you’re fine.

Good evening all. Quick question: Which address do I put in the part of the DS-160 that asks for where I will be staying in the U.S.?

I saw a YouTube video that said you should put your school's address, even if you have a place to stay in the US. I don't know how true this is. I would appreciate your timely responses. Thanks.

Hey 🤠

1. That YouTube is honest. Follow its guideline.

2. If your daughter gained admission into University of Nigeria (UNN) as a 100 level fresher, she is expected to stay on campus (hostel) naturally.

3. If you put it on opinion polls , 98% of parents prefers their children / wards to stay on campus for security purposes. Let's leave it that way .

Best Wishes 🙏

From Nigeria, can't be paid at all.
Both online and western union

Look for someone in the USA to pay on your behalf.
