Cassandraloius:believe them at your parole. This man has been doing his business openly for years. But it's now they caught him. Its obvious the navy increased his bribe settlement, in which he couldn't pay. In fact while I was working at lekki as a facility manager. I'm one of those that have patronised him. His business was an OPEN business. |

yemmywesey:Till there is an explosion and your house gets affected. Remember the blast at Ibadan? Is it proper to convert what is supposed to be a residential area into a depot for flammable products? Why do you think there are planning rules and regulations? Because others do it, doesn't make it right. |

Holluwhakemmy: It was extremely stupid to keep all these tanks in the open. You put them under ground, and just a few valves and hoses above the ground which should not raise any suspicion. You then open some sort of mechanic shop where vehicles have a legitimate reason to enter (and refuel). 1 Like |

The only crime here is not registering the business, operating in a residential neighborhood isnβt a case afterall majority of filling stations across the country operate around residential areas 1 Like |

greypencils: it is not a matter for the navy it is a matter for DPR, LASPPA, LASEPA those are the agencies that can decide what laws and regulations have been contravened the Navy has no business whatsoever in this matter the real risk here is environmental pollution as they are definitely spilling diesel on the ground from where it will get into the ground water . they are getting away with this because the ground water is already salty so no one in the area has boreholes as to fire - i would be more worried if it was petrol. diesel has a much higher flash point than petrol so it will take alot more carelessness for you to get a fire 2 Likes |

Pls for all those making all sort of noise about this, did you hear the products was gotten illegally, is there a pipeline within that property, was any analysis of the product that shows it's an adultrated diesel? The point here is the unauthorized storage facility in a residential area, aside from that, the product was bought legitimately with their hard earn money.. |

His only offence, a stupid one at that, is that he is selling it from his backyard. He is a very stingy and greedy businessman. With products worth over N89million, he could have purchased 2 plots of land at Ibeju Lekki and use it for his business. Just imagine the huge tanks he packed in his backyard. |

GloriousGbola: "A gas tanker was seen loading at the Elegushi Beach." That's how it became the Navy's business. At the shores, the NSCDC and the navy work together to prevent oil-bunkering. You hardly see The Police at the creeks. They accosted the perpetrators based on the suspicion of oil-bunkering and theft. "Handing over the suspects and recovered products to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at Silver Bird Road, Ilasun in Lekki." They have done their business and gone back to the water. |

I can bet you this has nothing to do with smuggling, that's the Tank farm for a large property and facility management firm ..they usually buy deisel in large quantities for their many properties to protect the value of service charge |
