Memories of those days. Where over 3000 people will write aptitude test, finally shortlist like 100 for interview, later pruned it down to like 30 for final stages

Ecobank final stages wey I don borrow suit dem come divide us into 6 groups come say for final stage make we come up with how to market one of the ecobank credit cards.

After the interview I was on the bus from Obalende to Iyana Ipaja when text enter say you were not successful. Men water runaway me eye.

Everyone in my team got the same message at same time. Na later I come hear say they prioritized people who already did NYSC with them are are familiar with the product

I always avoid applying for jobs that has potential of having thousands of applicants. When I see jobs posted by NNPC , Total , Mobil etc. Especially those ones advertised in national dailies and online .

I no dey disturb myself . Most of those jobs , they always end up picking just one or two outsiders while every other person that makes it in usually have backup .

If you analyze all those olden days you will realize that many things of their stories get undertone
One time when I analyzed the story of Efunsetan Aniwura and the allegations against her that she was wicked to her slaves, I come wonder how many of her accusers were not wicked to their slaves?

Maybe its born out of beef say she be woman wey get power
I thought she dated one of her slaves sef

Na this thing I been wan talk for morning , but I just decided not to cos I see the way so many people believe those stuff as real. grin

The thing is in Africa whether we decide to accept or not; we kinda have this unwritten rule that sees a lady cheating as a greater sin than a man cheating .

A man will live all his life keeping two different families . One that he raised with his legally married wife and another one he raised with a concubine outside wedlock . The wife at home will be oblivious of the other family until after his death when they are either conducting wake keeping for him, at the burial site or when the man's will is about to be read. Everybody expects the wife to accept the other woman and her kids .

But a woman is not expected to even have a concubine not to talk of having kids for the concubine sef .

There is no equality n sexes or in marriage in the African context. Polygamy is an accepted norm so when you put all these into context you can see where those laws come from

Well boss I can't speak on alaafin I have no knowledge of. But this one I'm speaking of is real though you'll also see where I said some men or families don't really go activate the stuff during the rites they just do it to put fear in their wives.
But it's mostly just done in the rural areas though or from advise towards a chronic case cause as time goes on with civilization, education and religion some of these practices are left behind. But it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Its all to instil fear, when you get into it really you will discover its all fake

Exactly!

Polygamy is our thing in Africa, but those laws are just put in place to allow men carry on with polygyny and disuade women from entertaining any thought of polyandry to balance things off.

Yeah, things are better now. With the advent of the internet , u can just see a job posted by someone on ur contact list , give it a trial and boom ! U have a job.

A friend of mine will be resuming a new job next week. That particular job was posted on a whatsapp group I belong to; I sent the job brief to him and another friend of ours. The funniest thing, they both made it to the final stage where they met with the GMD grin and one of them got the job.

Nowadays u just need to be good at networking and be prepared & ready when the job pops up

I'm not disputing the fact that there are quacks or some of these so called traditions or taboos are not man made to exploit people. But this one egbon has been around for ages, if you even stay small in some gathering where women meet to discuss you'll hear them later talk about it. All these stuff are linked to spirits that keep on manifesting after they were summoned except the supposed victim has a stronger backing with her own juju. Benin or Edo in general is one hell of a fetish place.

I did NNPC entry level in 2019, got to interview stage, traveled to Abuja for the interview. I felt I did very well during the interview stage but I didnt get in.

When they started sending offer letters to applicant, 80% of those they picked were technical roles that's related to Engineering and the likes.

The few Administrative they picked were majorly first class and those with ICAN or ACCA.

I hope those transporters would at least adjust their price to the ones they used when the bridge was open cause I usually hear from my people that the fares are different during the day and night depending on whenever the bridge was open/closed.
Presido tinubu really try for this one. Sheikh oasis e be like say I go join you for iftar to celebrate this one. Madam folake4u go run me portal to join you physically. cool

Yes, men are at an advantage.

The only place I see cheating as a deal breaker for women is on twitter. In real world, women live with it till other issues like domestic violence come up.

People will definitely pressure them to bring the prices down. Lagos na one funny place. In the morning u will hear Agbero calling Oshodi N500 from Eko Hotel roundabout. Then in the evening at that same place u will hear them calling Oshodi N1000 citing the traffic caused by the bridge closure and rush hour as excuse
