Many businesses which depend mainly on electricity would find it difficult to survive with this increment

It's very serious. Even in developed countries, masses are still enjoying a lots assistance from the governments from food to health to education to shelter. In Nigeria on the other hand, everything has been taken away from the masses by the government. Nothing is now being subsidised for the masses but massive looting of public money is going on unabated

Electricity supply has reduced since the announcement (psychological trick so businessee would waste money on diesel and say, it is still cheaper)... Also where I live in NorthEast, their is artificial fuel scarcity... All to pay off their $1b gas debt.

Let's adopt dollars as payment system. We can import from now till infinity without fear of inflation. Most European countries don't have local currency. Since Black Africans are too disorganized to have a united currency let's adopt the leading currency.

Even in my present location, this same sharp drop in power supply is prevalent. It's an unfortunate deceptive plan to force the policy on people. I agree with you.

Comparing Nigeria rate with dollar is madness. Apc devalued the currency. Nigerians were paying highly before now. If tinubu said things will come down and the exchange rate will come down. Why he didn’t wait first for the exchange rate to come down? Increasing the tariff and comparing exchange rate is contradiction to his speech that everything will come down. Similar thing he said about fuel will come down like sim card.

The man simply have nothing good to offer Nigerians .

This recent increase just shows dollar will not come down and things will not come down. He better increase minimum wage because as it is this country is finish. Just expect more inflation from hotels, malls, restaurants, goods and services. More inflation and more suffering. Some states are yet to implement minimum wage. No wonder workers don’t take government work serious many of them only mark register and have other jobs.

“We note that in the immediate aftermath of the announcement of the tariff hike, NERC claimed that the hike affects only 12 per cent of electricity consumers who enjoy a minimum of 20 hours of electricity a day.

“The truth has become stark that this is stark lie. The hike, from data put out by the DISCOS, affects all electricity consumers,” he added.

I think the Band A talk was just a pure lie.

If there is metering, charge everyone base on what they use, if I consume 1 KW, let me be charged for it irrespective of where I choose to stay, or is 1 KW in the city is different from 1KW in the village?

Thank you. I don't even understand why citizens are fallen for this gimmick. Why using different tariff rates for consumers when the kwh is the same everywhere? Why charging some people more because of unrealistic 20 hours?
