Because it is culture doesn't mean it can't be wrong sad

We once had a culture where Twins were killed
...until Mary Slessor came onboard.

And who were the 'we' that once had a culture of killing twins? You've been fed lies. Twins were sacred children in Yorùbá cultural practices. Twins' parents even had to make occasional feasts for the twins as the twins continued to grow. The feast is what is known as 'ẹ̀wà ìbejì' (twins bean feast). If they had been killed at birth, as you believed, would there be any need to make a feast for them later on?

There's a Yorùbá phrase for money spraying, and it's 'owó níná'. Go listen to classic Yorùbá musicians such as Ayinla Omowura, Barrister, KSA, and Chief Obey, you'd hear lyrics about how so-and-so 'ná mi lówó' (sprayed me money) while singing the praise of the so-and-so.

This money spraying culture must have been borrowed from the Yorùbá practice of touching an Òrìṣà (deity) with money on the forehead during consultation.
And that music is better than our constitution?

This is over a century ago o. This is why some of you are at odds when some Yoruba tell you that they are not from villages because their ancestral homelands have been a city for over a century.

Better than the constitution, YES, WAY BETTER. But it does not supercede the constitution. That's why anyone who sprays money, whether it's a Bobrisky or an Nkechi, should be arrested and prosecuted.

I just gave you the earlier submission to clear your doubt coz you felt there's no such cultural practice among the Yorùbá.

Here's a report on Yoruba weddings in Lagos as far back as over a century ago: Lagos High Society Weddings Of The 1920s

https://www.nairaland.com/7791204/lagos-high-society-weddings-1920s

This was a time some people in present day South East, according to authoritative books written by foreigners and some of our Nationalists of Igbo extraction, were still walking unclad and not exposed to having societal parties where Yoruba spray money.

You can get a copy of this book and read. We appreciate our history when we learn about how our forebears lived.

Reno is right, spraying of money at social and private events is part of Yorubaland culture till date. Others learnt it from the Yoruba and it's not a bad thing in my opinion because it is a way to appreciate the celebrant but it's now to be done in a manner that you don't mishandle the naira. Even the EFCC lawyer who prosecuted Bobrisky, a Yoruba, and the Judge who convicted him are Yoruba!
The report is talking about Abakiliki but you're generalizing it to be all Igbo province? When you talk about Independence, Don't forget Ziks father was the Secretary of the government of Lord lugard. Even till today Abakiliki people has a way of life, that's by choice, it doesn't mean all Igbo provinces go nude

The West African Currency Board was responsible for issuing currency notes in Nigeria from 1912 to 1959. Prior to the establishment of the West African Currency Board, Nigeria had used various forms of money including cowries and manilas.

Who owns the airport?

GIP owns the airport.

GIP was one of the first private fund specialists to hire a powerful chief risk officer, and was an early advocate of operational improvements to boost the value of infrastructure assets. Its first investment, a 2006 stake in London City airport, sold a decade later for four times the original purchase.

At London Gatwick airport, GIP introduced oversized luggage trays and other innovations that cut security screening times by more than half, freeing passengers to spend more in restaurants and shops where GIP received a concession.

“The thing about infrastructure businesses is a lot of them are monopolies and monopolies tend not to focus on customer service,” Ogunlesi said. “There are things you can do to generate improvements in operational efficiency and customer service and, obviously, revenues.”

GIP’s sprawling portfolio also includes Sydney and Edinburgh airports, the port of Melbourne, critical US pipelines, CyrusOne data centres and Italo high-speed rail. Its companies have combined annual revenues of $75bn and 115,000 employees.

Another story today referencing tribes. This is extremely sad on so many levels. When will Nigerians start using the education they claim to have and leave these divisions along tribal lines alone? That's one major reason the country is totally destroyed. Come on, people!

Spraying money is a recent phenomenon. Some of us have elders who partied hard in the early years of Nigeria as a nation.

When I get time, I will prove that it only became a 'cultural practice' when it gained currency (pun intended) in the 1970s.

VINCI Airports and GIP own Gatwick Airport.

In 2019, GIP sold majority of the company’s shares to VINCI Airports. VINCI Airports has 50.01% while GIP has 49.99%.

The 2 companies are both managing the airport.

Paper money and all it's antecedents,is a Western invention and you can't claim a culture of it..
Re: Bobrisky: Yorubas Have A Culture Of Spraying Naira - Reno Omokri by etrange: 1:45pm On Apr 08
We always use the world 'culture' to back up our arguments when there's no point left as if culture is something carved on stone. However, the truth is that culture is continously evolving to reflect the current state of things in the region, and any culture that refuses to evolved becomes toxic over time. When a particular trend exists for long, people begin to consider it 'cultural' and they forget that there was a time it wasn't there. The idea of spraying money only came into existence long after paper money was introduced. This goes to show that culture is subject to change. It was change that brought about this culture of spraying money, and its change that will take it away. Moreover, culture is also subject to the laws of the country, not the other way round. We must, therefore, know when to adjust.
