Can someone help me with budget for like 10 days visit? I want to plan my budget to answer the question "how much are you spending on this trip". Return ticket = £500 Accommodation = £350 Transportation = £180 Feeding = £250 Gift & Shopping = £400 Total = £1680 Did I miss any thing? Is it reasonable or too much? Please help me fine tune this. |

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out again regarding a matter concerning my mother-in-law's visit. Last February, we successfully secured a six-month visa for her to come and assist us with the kids. She arrived in March and returned to Nigeria in July, meaning she stayed with us for a total of four months. Now, we're looking into bringing her back again, this time on a two-year visa. We understand the limitation of each visit being no more than 180 days. My wife will be the sole sponsor of this trip, and similar to last year, we've already saved £5000. She'll be staying in our flat during her visit, and all she requires are tickets and food. I would also appreciate any information regarding potential updates or changes in the UK visa application process since last year. Additionally, is it possible to retrieve the previous application we submitted? I seem to have misplaced the downloaded file from my PC. Thank you for your assistance. |

In this case, it is what she told the Uk authorities during her application , that matters. If you said you did stay for a period of 2 weeks during your application, and stayed 4months. They need to explain reasons for that. I noticed alot that they usually revisit previous applications when reviewing fresh ones. I hope this information helps! Cashmadam: |

Good evening Guru's in the house, thank you all for all the help and advise. I have been reading asking and learning for 4 months now and this is what I have come up with thus far. Pls kindly advise if it's ok 2 complete my application. History: I applied in 2022 for me and 3 of my kids for vacation, the last time I visited UK was 2011 with my 1st daughter. We were denied because of my bank statement having alot of unexplainable inflows and outflows( wish I had visited here then) I have attached the refusal letter. My understanding from the letter is for me to clean up the account which I have now done, my budget was also a mess. But I have been advised on a better and realistic budget. Pls help me look thru and advise a sister: A draft cover letter I have included my salary bank statement of N3.7m. I earn N1.3m a month, spend 550k and save 750k monthly. I initially withdraw my savings out of this account but for the purpose of saving for this trip I have saved N3.7 as my personal sponsor for my trip. I am also submitting my husband savings account he will be sponsporing with N10.3m Budget Mother; Flight £1000 Transport- £200 Entertainment/Shopping- £1000, Feeding £300 Accommodation£1500 for the Total Spend- £ 4,000. Kid 1: Flight- £1,000 Food- £300 Transport- £200 Entertainment/Shopping- £600 Total Spend- £ 2,100 Kid 2- Flight- £1,000 Food- £200 Transport- £50 Shopping/Entertainment £500 Total Spend- £ 1,750 Kid 3- Flight- £1,000 .Food- £200 Transport- £50 Entertainment/Shopping- £300 Total Spend- £ 1,550 Total Spend £9400@1,580=N14m To submit a bank statement with the balance of N3.5m and hubby personal savings of N10m ( with a letter saying his savings for the trip) My Question; Is it OK to have the exact amount 4 d trip in the account if I explain am leaving my savings for the trip For my husband 's savings account too is it OK to have the exact amount he is sponsoring us with as his balance. Also find attached our last refusal letter. I think I have addressed the issue by keeping my salary account clean, only inflow is my salary, outflow my expenses or savings(nov/dec) 1 Like

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by crackcrack: 7:01pm On Apr 10, 2024 |
Nnekkyneks: I want to make sure I’m understanding you correctly. Your budget for the trip is 14m. Your husband has 10.3m in his account, and you have about 3.7m. That makes a total of 14m in both your accounts. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s what I got from your write-up. If the above is the case, I would advise you to abort mission completely. Your closing balance cannot be the exact amount you intend to spend on your trip. What money will you spend when you come back? Why is it so important for you to spend both you and your husband’s entire life savings on a vacation to the UK? Note that these are questions the ECO will ask, so don’t think I’m picking on you. A general rule of thumb is to have at least double your trip budget as your closing balance. While nothing is impossible, I believe it would be extremely hard for your visa to be approved with your current realities. 2 Likes |

crackcrack: You took the words right out my mouth! To the applicant: you cannot save N14M and spend N14M on a vacation. It does not make economic sense and will be the basis of another denial if you are not careful. First, you need to reduce your budget of 4K and then save more over the next few months. Your personal savings should be in the region of 10M. 2 Likes |

Nnekkyneks: Madam, this will not work. You are not expected to spend all your savings on vacation. It simply means you really cannot afford to travel. What will you have as savings after the vacation? It doesn't make economic sense.... Beef up your savings over the next few months and then let's look at the figures again. Your budget of 4k is high. 1 Like |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Nnekkyneks: 9:00pm On Apr 10, 2024 |
Thank you for your swift response am grateful 🙏 The 4k is not for me alone, I will reduce it to 3k, some one did a break down to make it look realistic because accommodation for 5(my son is not part of the application but he will b going woth us) people will require at least 2 bedrooms. I will reduce shopping money. On the savings I will also reduce the amount I intend to state as part sponsor. Beefing up the account with another inflow other than my income will seem like padding. It's not all my savings but I don't want to hv to present any other account or investment for further scrutiny. Going thru d thread it feels like more information u provide for questions. I hv had to maintain only my salary as inflow and my expenses as outflow to avoid unnecessary explanations. So from ur advise it's best the cost of the trip to me is less than amount in the account leaving me with some savings. The bulk of the funds will b provided my my husband as sponsor. Pls does this make more sense? Thank you quote author=Cashmadam post=129371932] Madam, this will not work. You are not expected to spend all your savings on vacation. My husband who is the sponsor is not traveling with us even though he has a 2 years Visa. So he is just submitting his bank statement as sponsor, however I will ask him to put in more than the amount he is stating as cost for sponsporing. I have revised the budget. Pls is this OK From the 3.7m the cost to me is 1m( part of my saving) My husband will provide the balance with is savings account. @nnekkyneks please shopping money is not needed. If you get visa and want to shop that’s separate. Remove all that from everyone’s expenses pls. Also accommodation can be a family room with 1 double bed and 2 twin beds. This way everyone does not need separate accommodation fee please. Personally if there are past refusals and you guys don’t have travel history at all at all and you are not sure of getting this visa, then you the adults can apply alone and use the kids as the home tie. Its better than the whole family applying and all chop refusal. The kids must not apply now!!! |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by crackcrack: 9:50pm On Apr 10, 2024 |
Nnekkyneks: Working on reducing your budget is all well and good, but if the total cost of the trip to you and your husband is still a significant portion of both your savings, your visa will most likely be denied. My initial statement above stands; it will not make sense to any ECO for you to spend a major part of your savings on a vacation. This is my advice: 1. Determine the total amount you and your husband have combined. This is the closing balance in your statement plus his own. 2. Make sure your budget for the trip is not more than 50% of that combined amount. From what you've written above, you intend to spend 1m, while your husband will provide the rest. That means he has to provide 11.4m. Your husband's closing balance should therefore be at least 21m. 3. If you guys' finances is not up to par, I would suggest you travel alone and use the kids as home ties. And if the kids must holiday with you, then perhaps go to a different country — one that is cheaper and with less stringent visa processes. 1 Like |
