This palace under construction is being built by a group of Ibadan elites dedicated to promote the rich historical and cultural heritage of Ibadan. It is about 80% completion and their aim is to present a state of the art palace as an upgrade of the one around Oja Oba in Ibadan. 3 Likes |

All these obas and oonis and chiefs and obis and emirs are a drain on the state's economy. They do absolutely nothing beyond wearing gaudy clothing, live in big houses, keep a harem, steal land, get free cars, and connive with bandits. Abolish this archaic institution! |

Pls, dnt misinform learned people here. If you don't knw it's better you do not say anything rather than misleading people that are ready to learn. Right from the onset, all olubadans have always used their private residence as palace. But some years back, prominent INDIGENES of ibadan land under the aegis of central council of ibadan indigenes (CCII) with the support of the state government decided to build a befitting palace as official home of olubadans of ibadan land. I stand to be corrected though! 2 Likes |

LagosFirstSon: This statement is very funny😂🥺he not a federal recognise king??can you mention 5cities in Nigeria without including Ibadan?? It’s not your fault for saying that that..so because Ibadan has a unique succession process, you feel it’s not a federal recognise ..I’m not comparing against oni of ife and Benin..but remove that onisha own.Do you know how wide Ibadan is??do you know how influential its association is?na the people wey build this kind palace I blame..if they did like this Oba in delta (I have forgotten the kingdom that claims his father cursed Nigeria) and he is very wealthy plus it’s an oil state ,you regard him as a federal king lol.do you think any governor can emerge without Ibadan backing?lol 1 Like |
