Can Someone From The North Explain The Conflicts With Shiites? by Ofodirinwa: 6:16pm On Apr 05 |
Every now and then we get news of conflict between Shiites and the state, or Shiites and Sunni. A lot of news and happenings from the north don't make it to the south and I could imagine it's also the other way around. This thread isn't to cast judgement, everywhere in Nigeria, every state and every local government, has some sort of conflict. I have dedicated this year to learning more about the current affairs of the other parts of Nigeria so don't read this as a religious or tribal question. Our understanding in the south is 'Sunni and Shiite don't like each other', but I know there's more to understand than this. Like all Nairaland threads, aimless people will wander in and try to cause trouble but I will only focus on mature adults. 42 Likes 2 Shares

Those guys love causing unrest more than other islamic sects.. I got stuck one time at the heart of Kaduna over Shiites demonstration. You'll see them walking on the main roads both male and female. 16 Likes |

Ofodirinwa: Shite are not Muslims. Ali is their prophet They have their own Qur'an They disbelief in hadiths and call prophets companions non Muslims They follow their imams whom they revere same as creator Their aim is to overthrow the government wherever they are and establish their Shia nation. To understand perfectly... Look into Iran politics 41 Likes 7 Shares |

Antlislaam: Those you quoted... Reasons why they're not Muslims were clearly stated. Someone who adheres to Qur'an and Hadith with the understanding of the companions of the prophet is whom a Muslim is. The people you mentioned are following their shehu or Alfa or sect leader Instead of what was stated 26 Likes 2 Shares |

omoharry:What you read is a mix of truth and falsehood, and truth is mixed with falsehood so that the falsehood can be more deceiving You were closer to the truth when you said it's about doctrine, the shia have beliefs that take them out of Islam, and no one who truly believes in Allah and His Messengerﷺ will want to have anything to do with them. So be careful where you get your info from, if it is truth you seek. 21 Likes |

It's all about regional supremacy in the Arab/Persian Gulf which the ignorant Islamists in the North carry on their heads like gala They are fighting a battle that does not concern them but have mouth to criticize Christians for supporting Israel I find it funny they wish Christians support them against Israel Hypocrites!! BTW I thought they said there is no division in Islam and it is only Christianity that has denominations? 51 Likes 5 Shares |

flokii:You see them. Always quick to judge others of the very thing they are guilty of or worse Sunnis block roads every friday throughout Nigeria to pray Jumaat, this dude has never labelled it as causing unrest but a procession by Shiites is "causing unrest" Ask him how walking on the main road by both male and female is a crime and threat to peace and you will see him convulsing. But Isreal is the oppressors against Palestinian Islamic terrorists according to them 32 Likes 1 Share |

Ofodirinwa:Shites have a very well organised master plan to take over the North or the country as a whole. And they are good at espionage and false flag insurgency. This is the main reason all the northern government always try and clamp them down. Just like all religion fanatics they believe they are the only real Muslims 6 Likes |

OP, it's a long story. There was no Shi'a during the life time of the Prophet, it was created after his demise by a Jew called Abdallah Bn Sayyad. The Jewish Encyclopedia called him "the first problem of Islam". To them, Ali is higher in status than all the Calips, and even the prophet. Ali himself kicked against the ideology. The primary source of law in Islam is Qur'an and Hadith, all have been rejected by the Shiates. They're violent, extremely so. Egypt was their headquarters, later Tunisia, and now it's Iran. Both Egypt and Tunisia are now Sunni. Shi'a is a minority in the North and are disliked because their teachings are not only un-Islamic but anti-islamic. Some of them are insulting the Prophet, his wives, and his Sahaba (companions); equating Ali to God; mut'ah (temporary marriage); taqiyya (not revealing your true identity or real intention); self mutilation; even their mode of prayer is entirely different; so also their fasting. They like wearing black and also like procession which normally ends violently, between them and the security personnel. They disregard the government or the constitution. They can build a school or mosque anywhere they feel like because to them land belongs to God alone. Prior to 2015, they erected a gigantic palatial centre which comprised of a mosque, school, conference centre and a guest house at the Zaria Polo Ground without government approval, they called it Markaz. It was demolished by El-Rufa'i. That was what led to the unrest in Zaria before Buhari sent Buratai and his troops that dealt a huge blow to them. Many of them were killed including Elzakzaky's three sons. Elzakzaky, their leader narrowly escaped death but was arrested and jailed. Elrufai ensured that no Shia procession whatsoever took place in the whole of Kaduna state throughout his tenure. They went into limbo. Now that both Elrufai'i and Buhari are no more there, they want to try the new government. For record, they clash with the security personnel during Obasanjo, "Yaradua, Jonathan, and Buhari but it was Buhari who really dealth with them. They called him Pharaoh. I hope this helps. 42 Likes 5 Shares |
