This labour are the most unserious labour we've had in 15yrs. #120k or #100k is still commendable and still some governor's won't be able to afford this. 4 Likes |

Endtimelifeinna: Why should government employ above her resources. Nobody working 40 hours a week deserves less than a living wage. Should be able to take care of a family of six (4 children) feeding, education and recreational needs. Part time work should be made available and minimum hourly pay negotiated. 2 Likes |

Powersurge:some Nigerians are plainly stupid. You could see different fools above saying 600k is too much to earn for a month's work. What can 600k do in this present Nigeria. A fool up there still said maybe he meant 61,500. Can 61,500 even get a bag of rice. I weap for these fools 13 Likes |

Lol... These people don't seem to know how inflation and economics work. The best FG can do is #100,000. ...And that can only be for federal government workers only or mostly. We all know most states will never pay that... Some are still struggling to pay the current paltry minimum wage. NLC needs to quit clowning around...! 3 Likes |

These guys should be realistic. This minimum wage will send a lot of businesses packing. Imagine taking a loan of N1m to start a small provision store and the least you have to pay the sales person is N650k. Just two months of operation the business will collapse. |

They are not ready. They have turned everything to politics instead of being realistic and forward-thinking. I just pity those they're depriving of 'normal' minimum wage. Professionals that work more hours diligently and solving real-life challenges never collect half of this demand in Nigeria. They could just have been realistic and everyone would put mouth that yes, this is not too much or too low. People that even requested for One Million Naira initially, what do you expect? 2 Likes |

Obviously some comments seen on the first page proves most people here are utterly wallowing in complete ignorance! You don't negotiate from a position of weakness! If the intention of labour and TUC was to achieve 100-150k,it will be a bad idea to start negotiating from 200-300k! You start higher not closer to you desired amount! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Labour Submits N615,000 Minimum Wage Demand In Fresh Proposal by pseudonomer: 7:54am On Apr 14 |
Minimum wage refers to the lowest salary that an employer is legally required to pay their workers in Nigeria. For example, this means you cannot pay your maid, driver, or salesperson less than 600k/month. This regulation applies not only to government employees but to all workers, which is why some consider it unrealistic. |

bentenny:True, I get the point now, there is room for negotiation. However, these negotiations waste time and delay implementation. |
