Good evening all. I bought a digital timer to use with my fridge for my inverter. I used it for the first time on Friday and set it to turn on my fridge by 8.30am and turn it off by 3.30pm. The problem now is that when I got home around 7pm, the fridge was off, since there was light at that time, I turned on the fridge but the fridge is no longer working. It makes a click sound every few minutes, the fridge light is on but the things in the fridge and freezer are not getting cold. Also, now, when the fridge makes the click sound, the load on the inverter rises to about 800w for a few seconds before dropping down to normal which did not happen before. What could be the problem? 1 Like |

Can someone please recommend a solid place in Lagos that I can get a 5kw hybrid inverter system with 5kwk Lithium Iron Phosphate battery and panels (at least 550w). Great price with warranty on products. Thanks. I am not sending anybody DM or WhatsApp abeg. Post it here please. Thank you. Also for a separate project, please I need a small 2000W solar gen that can power fan, laptop and 55 inch flat screen if possible. Can someone please recommend a good product and vendor? I was looking at Bluetti but the price is discouraging. Also I don't know much about solar gen. How long can they last? Etc. Please advise. Thank you |

ayinba1: Your picture is slightly blurry. A clearer one would have helped to properly diagnose the issue. But my assumptions are these: 1. If it is forming some kind of salt like crystallization, then probably there was an acid spill, causing the bolt and nut to react. This is true also if the bolt and nut are rusting faster than normal. Advice: shut down the system, disconnect the battery and rinse the battey terminal with clean water, and wipe dry with a towel. Allow the terminal to dry properly then apply generous amount of baby vaseline on the terminal to properly cover it to prevent further corrosion or reaction. Do this for the bolt and nut as well. Cut and re-terminate the cable using a fresh, unused wire inside to connect with. 2. Confirm if the electrical contact at that point is firm, re-torque the connection to be sure. 3. Ensure the battery location is properly ventilated. Caution: please make sure a qualified personnel handles this, else you risk chemical or electrical hazard to man or machine. If you stay in Lagos, chat me let's see if we can work something out. Cheers. |

Thanks for your suggestions. The installer tightened something too hard and it broke was the information shared with me. I will try to get a clearer picture. Not sure how to do the DM to see if you can help. Place is in Ojo local government area. |

adibo: My freezer has been on programmable timer that turns on at 8:40am and turns off at 3:20pm for two years now. I doubt the issue with the fridge has anything to do with the timer. From what you described, it appears the fridge may be experiencing a technical issue something to do with the power circuit in charge of powering up the compressor. The 800w you see is I think the fridge compressor's initial power draw when the compressor is about to kick on . I'm afraid you may need to invite a fridge repair person to take a look at the fridge (special attention to be paid to the compressor circuit control power board). But before doing that, I'll recommend connecting a 60w or 100w incandescent bulb (old school yellow bulb) to the digital timer and set the timer to power on and off to see if anything happens to the bulb. |

Mavor:For the first paragraph, check the website of Deye. I'm sure they have a distributor in Lagos. You can go for their 5kva inverter and their 5kwh battery. For the second paragraph, set up a small 12v system with 1kw hybrid inverter and 12v 100ah Lfp battery or you go for solar generator with 12v 500w/1kw pure sine wave inverter and 12v 100ah Lfp battery. Most of the solar generators are built with msw inverters and lithium ion. Check the datasheet/specification very well before you strike a deal. ADVICE: I really understood what you passed through in the past, but that shouldn't make you to be too rigid in your decisions. Let the past go and move on. If most of us here narrate our experience, disappointment, frustration and the losses we've encountered with people in this solar business, you will be surprised. We've learned, we're now stronger and we're still calling people and striking deals them. Lol There are people that may like to offer professional advice but when they look at the construction of your message, they just ignore it. Please, it's just a mere advice and do not take it personal. Thanks Boss. 5 Likes |

isangjohnson: Just like I wanted to offer free consultation service by offering my what's app contact so he can be free to ask questions and I can recommend brand and share some business tactics and how to get low prices.. But he want me to disclose them here forgetting that it's someone's livelihood. He want me to promote brands that did not pay me for ads, lol. 1600w (800w) Pure Sine Wave Easun Inverter (12v/24v) with free pair of cable lugs. The cable lugs will come in handy if you do not want to use the alligator clips or you want to "wear" the inverter cables over your battery terminals and lock them in with terminal covers Below video shows a load capacity test done on the inverter using a 100L non-inverter Haier Thermocool deep freezer (rated 80w), 55" Hisense smart TV (rated 130w), 10kg Maxi washing machine (rated 450w) and 2 units of Qasa AC/DC standing fans (rated 30w each), and it powered all at once without tripping on overload. Second video shows inverter powering an old model Panasonic toasting machine (rated 640 - 760w) and the 55" TV. Key Features: - Peak power 16000w; Continuous 800w - Offgrid. This means it has no charging function. You need an external charger to charge your batteries. You will be fine if you are connected to solar - Consumes very low power (<5w) from your batteries to invert, so you will get more backup time from your batteries - Protection against overload. It only trips off with an alarm sound and light when overloaded, but returns to normal working when you switch off and on again. - Protection against surges from sparks, partial contacts and reverse polarity connections Price: 69,000 Warranty: 6 months. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KAuD7Bh9uk?si=CqzIQxmY5bmpRlGm

Allem: You can connect them, the VOC is around 56V So it's fine to parallel the panels, for better efficiency. |

I remember that some recommendations have already been provided for him few pages back, of which I even provided link to Fouani store for him to decide on. For the SRNE he has been on for a while now, a simple Google search will reveal their office Lagos address and all that yet he keeps repeating the same request all the time without actually responding to the requested informations from others here. isangjohnson: 1 Like |

You're all good to go as the VOC of the panel is well within the range of the CC. Allem: |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Allem(m): 9:34am On Apr 14 |
Ferdiwar: Dam5reey1: thanks. I was worried because the cc is rated 720w as maximum watts and 2pcs of 550w will give 1100w. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey1(m): 9:39am On Apr 14 |
Allem: As long as you did not exceed the input VOC and ISC. I have 4 PCs of 320 watts connect in 2s then, the 2 strings in parallel.. to a 50A CC same 12V set up. The CC only clamps to max out put of 50A. |

That's the highest the CC can output for a 12V (60A x 12V), however, your 2x 550W won't produce that under NOTC so you should be getting between 700W to 950W with quality sunlight, proper inclination and installation. Allem: 1 Like |

Wow that's 1280watts. Hope the 60a wouldn't be too much charge for battery? My battery is a lipo4 12v 173ah How many Cs can the battery take Dam5reey1: |

isangjohnson:Thank you for your patient feedback Sir. I deeply appreciate. Can you please give a specific brand in Lagos Nigeria for the solar gen based on your desceibed specifications? I am considering getting the solar gen first to manage and then get a solid 5kw inverter with 10kwh LiFePO4 battery and 20 Jinko panels later this year before Dec. My Monday to Friday, I am away from the house because of work from 7am to 8pm. So I basically need a solar gen I can manage when I am home and over the weekend. Something to carry 2 laptops, 1 standing fan and one 55 inch LG smart TV. Thanks. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 10:45am On Apr 14 |
Trippledots: THAT, too, may lead to failure. Do people still use MSW? I know it's cheaper, but the wahala wey dey follow am is pretty expensive. |
