I am afraid there is no real truth to pretty much your beginning statements there. Contrary to popular religious belief, there is no correlation in the passage below between the sons of God taking the daughters of men for wives and the proliferation of evil among the sons of men at that time.

1-4 The number of people on earth continued to increase. When these people had daughters, the sons of God saw how beautiful they were. So they chose the women they wanted. They married them, and the women had their children.
Then the Lord said, “People are only human. I will not let my Spirit be troubled by them forever. I will let them live only 120 years.”
During this time and also later, the Nephilim people lived in the land. They have been famous as powerful soldiers since ancient times.
5 The Lord saw that the people on the earth were very evil. He saw that they thought only about evil things all the time.
6 The Lord was sorry that he had made people on the earth. It made him very sad in his heart.
7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy all the people I created on the earth. I will destroy every person and every animal and everything that crawls on the earth. And I will destroy all the birds in the air, because I am sorry that I have made them.”

Neither is there any direct connection made by God to suggest any such anywhere else in Scripture.

There are no such things as spiritual husbands given that the verse indicates that the Sons of God married the daughters of men(physical beings) and marriage, as made clear by God in Genesis 2 vs 15 and Genesis 3 vs 16, equally reiterated by Jesus Christ in Luke 20 vs 34 - 36, is of the world of men and not of the Kingdom of God(spirit world).

3. Nothing in those 6 verses suggests that the Sons of God sacrificed what you label a glorious image when they took for themselves wives of the daughters of men. 1. The Nephilim myth propagated in religious doctrine is a lot different from that presented in Scripture.

2. In the Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ described those who belong to Him as becoming like the Angels. Yes, when a person becomes born-again — not the churchian fluke — individuals acquire eternal life and become like the angels(eternal beings) as a result. The same being is capable of reason for him or herself. Yes, born-agains, like the disciples of Jesus Christ, had their own will which they chose to submit instead to the Will of God, the same as Jesus Christ submitted His Will to do instead of that of His Father.

The "angels do not have free will" and the "Angels are inferior to human beings" ideas do not come from Scripture, but instead from the mouths of religious people— Christians included— who almost all of the time ignore details presented in Scripture when making their various claims.

Interesting Scriptural fact for you! In Deuteronomy 14 vs 1 - 5, the Sons of God are described in the Law are Holy vessels set apart by God for His very work. Meaning that the prophets of Old — all men of God— were equally sons of God since they too were become holy and set aside by God for His Work. In the Gospels, Jesus Christ said that sons of God are born-agains — humans who have been granted Eternal men by Him— who have through continuous obedience to His teachings and commandments attained holiness and righteousness— transformed by the Spirit of Truth into vessels set apart for God's Work - John 8 vs 31 - 36.

So, you see, how the myth surrounding the details of what is presented in Genesis 6 vs 1 - 4 falls to pieces when you consider the facts as presented in the same Scripture.
