The Lagos State Government has commenced the removal of illegal properties built on the drainage channel along System 1 midstream (Odo Iyalaro – Ojota – Ogudu reach) to mitigate the risk of flooding in the area.

Following several meetings held, the Ministry engaged with the owners of the properties who had disregarded multiple notices to cease construction on the drainage channel.

Today, on the 15th of April, 2024, the Monitoring Enforcement and Compliance Department of @LasgMOE took action to remove the illegal structures, ensuring the free flow of rainwater and preventing potential flooding incidents.

The @followlasg reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding communities across the State from the hazards of flooding, prioritizing the well-being and safety of residents.

No no no .

Stop this rhetoric

They didn't do proper search, and they built on canals.

Always go to lands to do your search, with lawyer or without.

Move.

To build in Lagos these days, you just have to shine your eyes very well. I pity those traders along Ojo - Alaba axis. They will always wants to get land close to their businesses to build. They are usually the culprits and casualties in most demolitions along that axis.

Lagos state government should stop destroying people's properties. People build houses near Canals and over Canals in Amsterdam.

See how Sand dredgers blocked the water channel trying to create a pathway for the area they are sand filling to sell to the public.
