wunmi590:You can do that without sponsoring a stupid bill. A bill is a proposed law, if all they do is sponsor bills, we will have millions of duplicated laws that will have no importance to the lives of their constituents. You can present a complain about an individual or your community on the floor of the house and have it addressed and be a more useful parliamentarian than someone sponsoring ten stupid bills. |

What effect has all Senate bills on Nigeria economy. If am a Senator, I would sponsor National Unemployment Bill which will make it mandatory for government to pay stepends to unemployed graduates Once such an individual: School in d state Pay school fees from secondary to tertiary in such state Live in such state for at least a period of 10years in which he would have contributed economically to such state Be an indigene of such state Pay utility bills in such state Resides in d state |

They are just there to collect money. This is what happens when we don't set KPI's for them. Nearly all will be re-elected again by the mumu voters in 2027. |

Celestialsword:Probably apart from the Senate President, and let's say OGD and OUK, most of the other bills look more like creation of agencies and federal universities! Is it that the Senate is created for agency creation bills ni? Agencies that the Federal Executive council will scrap or merge some day. Smh. The efficiency of the Senate doesn't depend on bills but active and effective representation of your constituents at the Federal level. The Senators from Lagos and the South West states can help push for the designation of Lagos state to enjoy a special status as a former capital. 1 Like |

I don’t know why we feel that you must sponsor a bill as a senator. That’s not the only job of a senator. This is what leads to frivolous laws and the creation of multiple overlapping agencies. 1 Like |

What do you expect men who have nothing to offer to do on the floor? They only use the floor of the senate as part time jobs, they go there mark attendance relax under air conditioner, listen to their colleagues. The only they do is to shout yea and nay, then they receive huge allowances month end |

Mvnster:thank you and God bless you. many saying they don't know why they are there don't know why they elected those legislators. they were not elected to sponsor bills but to enact good laws and policies that would translate in the society. everyone is happy they sponsor bills to establish higher institutions whereby the existing ones can't be funded. |

My biggest disappointment is Victor Umeh. He is representing my senatorial district and his impact has not been felt. It is not to be wearing long red cap and answering, "Ohamadike" with nothing to show. His constituency is under the menace of gully erosion and he has not sponsored any environmental bill or attracted federal agencies to tackle the environmental disaster within Anambra central senatorial district |

The solution to the problem of Nigeria is not in the number of Bills sponsored and passed by the National Assembly, but in the implementation and enforcement of those laws. Already, so many laws have been passed by the National Assembly that we don't even know. I suggest that the National Assembly committees on Legislative compliance, in both Houses, must do their work effectively so that Nigerians can benefit from all the laws passed so far. |

Many don't even understand what a bill is not to talk of sponsoring. Just like Tinubu. I don't know how many bills he sponsored as a senator |

Mvnster:. And it's not even a must that one should sponsor a bill. And sometimes bills are sponsored collectively. They weren't elected to go and sponsor bills only. It's just part of the job, but it's not a must that you sponsor bills. |
