Max24: This is the reason all of you are suffering in Nigeria. You can’t challenge your leadership. You u are cowards. A government that sank her citizens into poverty overnight should not be supported. People like you accept everything that comes your way. You guys are the most useless people on earth. Anyone supporting this government is a coward. We thought Buhari was clueless. Tinubu is Pro Max. Imagine a bottle of soft drink selling for N400, ordinary biscuits sell for N70 and you get mouth to castigate those who have balls to challenge an irresponsible government. You sef be cannot. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Wainey: You are assuming that he will change his dollar to naira and that is a fundamentally wrong assumption. 1k dollar of last year is still 1k dollar in terms of purchasing power rather it is nairs that lost value because of speculation. If I am not a currency speculator I see no rush to go selling dollar that I earned legitimately just because politicians and their supporters say so. Have the politicians sold their own dollars? State government that have been using their FAAC to buy dollar nko have they sold it? Speculators have already cut their losses so this preaching about sell your dollar is not making sense anymore 1 Like 1 Share |

helinues: I don’t support her but would rather support her than you. You know why? Your hypocrisy stinks to high heaven. Your lord and saviour Tinubu was the one who first wished the country backward when he protested against the removal of subsidy he had eventually removed. I don't believe your words one bit whether truth or lies. 1 Like 1 Share |

She has a point. The dollar down trend has not indicate any positive indices so far except the draining of Foreign reserve, speculative buying and selling, which they initially accused Binance of perpetrating... Worse is that, there is no impact on the prices of commodities, rather, inflation is adding more points. It shows that what the government is doing is shoulder dressing, which is temporary 2 Likes 1 Share |

See people that claim they want to rule Nigeria yet never wish the country good. Tell me how obi can change Nigeria if Tinubu fails. Is utterly not better for Tinubu to perform and his successor continues where he stops. Peter obi must distance himself from people like this. They are demarketting obi but obi won't know. I am sure this woman come 2027 will never step her toes into Nigeria Time will tell 2 Likes |

The measures the CBN have taken seem robust and long term. They are not hasty and shortsighted decisions. 1) They cleared backlog, signalling to investors that they can repatriate their money should they decide to do so. 2) They stopped naira speculation and standardised BDC. BDCs get supply of dollars, so no need to panic. 3) They increased interest rate, so FDI came in huge waves. 4)They stopped banks from using dollars as collateral. 5) They tapped into the remittance market, so dollars sent to Nigeria now comes through official channels, not all but a good chunk. 6) President Tinubu is also growing the nations revenue. Oil production is going up, they finding creative ways to bring taxes in. If revenue continues to grow, local refineries start working at full capacity and electricity improves, Naira could appreciate significantly. We would require fewer dollars to import fuel. Also, another key index is if inflation comes down and how fast. Diesel price is a major determinant. If it’s being pegged like people are saying, parallel rate and official rate won’t converge. Official rate at present is even higher than Parallel rate. 8 Likes 3 Shares |
