Agenda and banter aside,Tinubu should be concerned about the tears of his followers and set up a price regulatory board to forcefully regulate the prices/charges of all essential goods and services.......

Regulate prices of transportation, regulate Electricity tariff, Rice, beans, meat, fish, garri even pure water, school fees, house rents, cost of clearing goods at the nation ports, Bank charges, gadgets, drugs etc.......Greedy retailers, traders, economic saboteurs and marketers are exploiting his supporters and making his administration look bad..

That is how to go out in a blaze of glory.

It is also noteworthy that she reaffirmed Okafor’s Law one more time before she exited the stage.

Once debe forever debe. The holy law of St Okafor.

Can we also talk about how Toronaga uses these people like literal chess pieces though. cheesy

How is he the hero of the story? Realistically he should be the villain.

Thing is, there's nothing else that explains the foreign reserve depleting by 2.1bn in one month. The backlog they paid was 1.5bn. Remember they also claim to have received 1.5bn from FPIs. If 1.5bn from FPIs nets off 1.5bn used to clear backlog, where did 2.1bn go?

Yes, it's their core mandate to use the reserves to defend the currency so the question is why they are hiding it.

My guess, they know the implication of coming out clean which is, people will know the exchange rate is only headed in one direction-downwards.

Again, all speculation from your end.

I remember saying it the other day that you cannot use a net position for comparison. Even at that your numbers are quite wrong. There have been major debt repayments that have occurred this year. Adding and subtracting when you dont have the full picture just to juxtapose a position is just confirmation bias

Why are you so convinced they are hiding what there isnt any evidence of. Market participants are yet to see them intervene but somehow people just seem convinced that they are. And my guess is its still the speculators who are more worried/interested in this piece of info

Its probably the same reason why I think CBN is holding back on providing the information - maybe until there's some sort of stability. I also think they should disclose in the spirit of transparency but if that's their play then they should go for it

The reason they are hiding it is simply political .

Yemi Cardoso even though he's a "technocrat" is also a political appointee who was nominated for the CBN role by his friend Tinubu ( the president ).

If they should come out clean they know the people will figure things out and Tinubu's political opponents will not only weaponize the information but the after effects of the public's reaction to it.

We all see how the reserves depletion under Jonathan was weaponized and even till date he's being vilified for things APC expects u to applaud Tinubu for in 2024
Example APC said 216 naira to 1 dollar is not good enough under Jonathan but they want you to praise Tinubu for 1000 naira to 1 dollar.

This is what EFCC under Tinubu has been turned to? What a shame? All the stealing that happened in Buhari 8yrs have they finished investigating or prosecuting? The Smuggler guy nko? At least if Tinubu is unwilling to prosecute fellow thieving politicians, there are other crimes against the Nation not some minor misdemeanor of spraying cash..

Am guessing it's just noise to distract the masses from it's incompetence.

I was just thinking about this. They are all pawns to him. One thing i would have appreciated is an appropriate use of flashbacks to better illustrate why Toranaga is so feared by his enemies and why his followers are so willing to waste their lives to further his cause.

None that hasn't been nipped in the bud from what I know.

If you haven't gotten land yet, I'd say go for LGAs with large landmass and land to spare where the urbanisation drive isn't on steroids.

LGAs like Ini, Ikono, parts of Mkpat Enin, parts of Oruk Anam. The interiors. Affordable too.

Flee from anyone who offers you a place in Ibesikpo and Uruan. They are large but you might lose your investment to government interests and right of way. Or at least be certain you get approval from the Ministry of Lands. Most lands have been purchased too so you'd likely not get a very large stretch of land for your investment.

Mkpat Enin and Oruk Anam LGAs are very accessible from/to Uyo and Port Harcourt too. Ini and Ikono are at the extreme ends of the state so far from the capital, Calabar, and Port Harcourt.

Thank you for your explanation regarding land mass and specific local government areas. I appreciate. I'm curious at the bold, Akwa Ibom State University has her both campuses there. With the expansion so far, wouldn't it be affected by urbanisation? What about Onna? My hunch is any local government that hosts a tertiary institution, especially federal and state, would witness massive urbanisation and commercialisation. So, this should include Ikot Abasi which is closer to Mkpat Enin.

Also, where exactly are BUA refinery and the fertiliser manufacturing facility by the Moroccan firm situated?

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ballzproblem2: 5:21pm On Apr 17
Moneyyman:
Now, sit down and think of this:

1. Tinubu met the Dollar at N750.

2. He announced the immediate "removal" of subsidy payments (even when Buhari's PIB established the removal).

3. Buhari sought an $800m loan to "cushion" the effect of subsidy removal and stagger it for months.

4. Tinubu's announcement sent shockwaves into the markets. Petrol price jumped to N710 per liter and the cost of goods and transportation nearly, 150%.

5. The inflation worsened the already bad situation caused by insecurity (increase in prices of food and meat from the north), and resulted in food inflation.

6. The government started paying subsidy. THEY RESUMED SUBSIDY PAYMENTS, paying up to $1 trillion monthly (based on the new exchange rates between October 2023 to February 2024.

7. The government now dips into the external reserves to "settle" FX backlogs. However, airlines are complaining that they weren't really "settled" but forced to sell at a fixed price.

Yet, an equivalent dollar amount was taken. For context, let's explain:

I owe you $1000, which I take from the external reserves, but I then force you to collect the $1000 at a rate of say N900/$, when the rate is around N1400/$.

Ask yourself, who goes home with the extra N500?

8. Every country defends their currencies, but not at the expense of external reserves. Your external reserves are called RESERVES for a reason!

8. The best action is to "attack" the Dollar. Cutdown the costs of exports and remove security challenges that's increasing the cost of food from the north. Invest in dry season farming around the country to boost food production (dey season farming rates decreased in the last few years).

9. We're glad the dollar is "going down" against the naira, but it is not a viable strategy and can't last long. Once the reserves are depleted, demand will increase beyond supply and we're back on for explosive rates.

It happened under Emeifiele and will repeat itself if care isn't taken.

10. Elections are over. Whoever you supported or whatever side you were on, it's time to demand for data-driven governance and accountability from your leaders.

It is not hidden that governors we're busy converting their security votes into USD and sling at the black market to make heavy funds from the arbitrage. A public figure confirmed this recently on Twitter.

Yet the government went after BDCs and Binance only, leaving the major beneficiaries of the whole saga.

Demand good governance or we risk a failed nation.
