See what police men at Egba Benin Auchi byepass did to my friends yesterday.

The police men from Egba devision opened fire on my friends almost killing one.
They were traveling from Auchi to Benin
They got to egba they met policemen at checkpoint.
The policemen were attending to other cars and my friends were in a hurry
They tried to pass the check point the police man threatened them by pointing his gun, my friends thought it was just to scare them
Not knowing that the police man will shoot.

The officer opened fire which almost sent them to grave.

If you ask me your friends were at fault. No amount of hurry should make you inpatient at a checkpoint, you could be labeled as thieves and the matter would end.

In my POV, both your friends and the police were wrong.

80% of police extra judicial killings is preceeded with a warning. " I'll shoot you oo" the victim feeling invincible will reply daring the perpetrator to try it. Lesson?? at all point obey anyone bearing arms to avoid stories that touch

Sometimes you will see very long traffic lines in Benin city, you will think that an accident or something else caused the go-slow. You and ur friends are very stood for what u did. You saw a checkpoint and u try to bypass it even when u saw other cars were on queue.

If it were Nigerian Army, would u do the same. Now that your friend was shot, I hope he got to the destination he was going.

It's common to see people jumping queues at police checkpoints and you would be tempted to do same.

Don't.

First, why would you jump the queue?, is your time valuable than every other person waiting?

The police are law enforcement, you OBEY them. Don't do gragra. Many officers have lost their lives due to spring attacks by gunmen who carry out similar maneuvers like your friends did. Your friend is even wearing a camo like shirt. All red flags asking for trouble. You should always wait your turn.

I did jump queues sometime ago when I traveled a lot but I was already familiar with the police teams on that route. I also drop something almost everytime I pass. Your appearance also says a lot about who you are before they even approach you.

In this season of insecurities where security agents are being killed daily and those on duty are constantly suspicious of everything around them!
