olaoluwa83:Hi, and @ tblaze007, application submitted for myself and staff who is my company's tech unit head mid November. Same docs were submitted for both applications except a few, which pointed directly to him. My application was approved a couple of months back, while his own was still waiting in line, until this morning. I had an expired and valid US visa already while my technician had nothing, maybe a reason his application went through the normal processing time. He has never been to NA countries before but has been to EU for training twice in the past. I did not enroll for biometric because mine is still valid while he did. Documents submitted Copies of his past training certificates His marriage certificate Employment letter A copy of his job ID A letter stating the importance of the training and benefits to our company and the sector that we serve A Letter of promotion as the head of tech. unit with the new roles clearly defined The company bank statement( which covered both of us cos my company was the sponsor) The invitation letter from our business partner for the training God factor, ultimately That's all. |

mojisolani:Send mail dear. They will definitely respond. The one I sent on behalf of my technician received a swift response cos I stated that airlines ticket always increases as the travel date approaches and we already had a budget for the trip which we would not like to exceed. I also explained the importance of the training, which we cannot afford to miss |

mojisolani: Both are the same. Use email if you know the IRCC office where your application is being processed, if not, then use a webform, and IRCC will forward your webform to the right office for you. Based on their processing timeline, I would suggest that you wait until May before you start to worry because, as of now, your application is still within the processing timeframe. Note that processing time starts counting a day after biometrics is done, not when an application is submitted. Count 164 days from the following day after your biometric was done to see if your application is still within processing time or not. |

Kelvinarsenal:Mid November 2023. My biometric is still valid. He had his biometrics done shortly after his app was submitted by me. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Eriokanmi: 11:44am On Apr 18 |
Bigkenny:Correct! I think by early or mid may, response on her decision would come. My webform was answered but response took nearly 3 weeks. They said my application was with the Lagos IRCC office, that I should contact them. Meanwhile, email took just 2 days. I first received an auto response immediately after mailing the IRCC, then 2 days later, I received a response that they were actually processing my application and the job was quite overwhelming. They apologized that they would respond soon, that I should bear with them. |

Eriokanmi: "He has never been to NA countries before but has been to EU for training twice in the past" is this a typing error because this statement is confusing if you mean he has never been to any country but travel to Europe twice |

Eriokanmi: The main issue is that 99% of Nigerians who use an agent initially intend to misuse their tourist visa by overstaying or seeking asylum or thinking it easy to settle in Canada with a tourist visa . This is simply the reality and fact of the matter. I cannot comprehend why a rational person would pay over 3 million just to apply for a visa to visit a location. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Eriokanmi: 1:59pm On Apr 18 |
uchennay:Not an error. I meant he has never been to North American countries before. NA is an acronym for North America,(mainly US and Canada) which could have boosted his chances . Though applicants can get a visa approval with no travel history. |

Eriokanmi: Now I understand your point but The refusal rate for Canadian tourist visas is currently quite high, especially for individuals without a travel history. An agent I know has even ceased processing Canadian tourist visas and is now only handling student visas, as the risks outweigh the benefits. This agent confided in me that some of his clients have been refused, and because they paid in full due to his previously high approval rate over the last year, he doesn't know how to inform them of the refusal. He has invested their money in some building projects, so he keeps telling them that the visa process is delayed by IRCC. This is reflected in the silence of this group, as most people seldom share details of their visa refusals. Please, if you are using an agent, try to ask for your login because some agent might conceal the refusal due to financial reasons. 3 Likes |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Eriokanmi: 3:37pm On Apr 18 |
uchennay:Those using agents, sope otiloo . If I were in their shoes and could see that 3m naira they paid agents, I'd buy 500gigs of data, load my home with foods and provision, buy enough fuel for gen and research on how to secure a Canadian visa legitimately, I'd start by reading visa threads on Nairaland back to back, go on quora, indian visa threads etc. I'd get the visa in my first attempt. This was what I did on my very first usa visa in 2004. While others were spending a lot of money on night browsing watching porn and meeting new friends on yahoo, friendfinder and hotmail messengers, I'd book nights and research on how to secure a USA visa. As far back as 2004, the US embassy was always asking for a bank statement and they could grant as low as 2 months visa. Things have changed now. They rarely ask for statements nowadays, except you're applying for a student visa I researched on bonds, call-accounts, etc as alternative to bank statements. I didn't have anyone to assist me with a bank statement and I wasn't earning good salary too. I just went to a banker who assisted me with a call account and a bond with the little I had in my account. It had a tenor of 3 months. When the VO asked for my statement, I simply told him ok, presented the bond and call-account details to him. He looked at it carefully and said, your visa had been approved, all these documents are well known to them as proof of funds. I saw a money order on Indian threads too.. I was issued 3 months visa and the journey had been smooth ever since, to the glory of God. After I got my visa, I approached my friend who was asking for some money before linking me with a sponsor. He said us embassy would use my visa fee to plant flowers. I called his bluff. He was shocked below his belts when he saw my visa on my virgin passport. Travels are fun. You can easily gain international connections and be made in life, even faster than your peers. But e get wetin everybody dey reason shaa. I made my first contact on my first trip at an international conference. How someone would be thinking of staying put on a visit visa is appalling, when there are loads of opportunities here which Chinese and Indians are rushing in to tap from. Nigeria is one of the cheapest countries with boundless opportunities. What more can I say? Youths nowadays are so lazy. Parting with 3m naira on a visit visa is crazy. Most of the agents don't even know Jack, to say the least. 5 Likes 1 Share |

deejay102: Thereβs a section in the application where they ask - Do you have a valid national identity document? - Document number - Confirm your document number - Date of issue You will answer yes if you have NIN; otherwise, you will say no. But I am pretty sure that including NIN or not will not have any impact on the outcome of a visa application. My wife's visa was approved even though she didnβt have an NIN when she submitted her application. 1 Like |

So, is there anyone who has gotten a response less than 5 months since the time of application, especially those who made their application this year? I am just asking so I will know how to gauge my expectations.

|
