This ceremony is usually performed by women. In the UK it is usually performed by female members of the Royal Family and in Nigeria it is usually performed by the First or Second Lady. In the US it is usually performed by the wife of a senior government official (usually the wife of the president, vice-president, governor or mayor). Patience Jonathan slipped NNS Centenary into the water in China in 2014 and inaugurated NNS Thunder in 2012 and Aisha Buhari slipped an LNG vessel into the water in Korea in 2016. In some places the vessel is slipped into the water by breaking a bottle of champagne across its bow. 60 Likes 6 Shares |

So from the 200 million people in Nigeria, we can't put resources together to build our own ships. A technology that has existed for centuries. This is shameful Is it that the education in Africa is different from rest of the world? We do have a long way to go 38 Likes 8 Shares |

weslay: “The acquisition of the High Endurance Offshore Patrol Vessels is another feat in the Tinubu administration’s commitment to Nigerian Navy’s Fleet renewal efforts towards a more secured maritime environment for Nigeria’s economic prosperity”.
