Hezzyluv: The IGP is telling the truth. State Governors are dictators who have found ways to pocket the State House of Assembly that is supposed to be their check and balance in a democracy. Beyond the State Houses of Assembly, these Governors not only encroach upon but also turn the Local Governments to their fiefdoms contrary to the spirit and agenda of the Constitution. Even the State Judiciary is not left out of their influence since the Governors are in total control of the funds in the State and dictate who gets what. Now you want to give them State Police to further their power grab and tin-god agenda? That is a disaster waiting to happen. Have you read of the confessions of the Miyetti Allah National President who has been in detention for months now for launching a Militia in Nassarawa State? Did you read how he indicted the Governor as the source of the idea and funding of the militia even when it was contrary to the Constitution and how the State Police Commissioner and Director DSS couldn't tell the Governor the truth despite not being directly under the Governor and also knowing that what the Governor was doing was wrong? Are those the kind of Governors you now want to give State Police? Read the confession through the link below and no that giving State Police to these current crops of Governor with very weak institutions in the States is a disaster waiting to happen. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/how-nasarawa-gov-pressurised-me-to-establish-militia-group-miyetti-allah-leader-tells-investigators/%3famp 1 Like |

nairalanda1: Lamido Sanusi said if 40% of the civil servic were laid off, they would still satisfactorily perform their functions optimally. The civil service is bloated. I am sure Tinubu is itching to sack them but will be postponed till his second term. 2 Likes |
