TheGoodJoe:I still remembered vividly. The France coach undertook a case study of his previous matches and dealt with him accordingly. It's was an eyesore watching that finals as "he" couldn't do anything except to stand on the lines and accept his fate. This shows the tactical inept of local coaches. It was this lack of tactical flare that caused Eguavoen his AFCON 2021 job. 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: You know Roberto Mancini coached Simone Inzaghi at Lazio. Mancini left to Inter Milan and won the league title (Multiple times). Now Inzaghi coached Lazio, left to Inter Milan and has won the league title. Joyous day. 1 Like 1 Share |

ThunderFireAgba: Losing a match does not make a coach tactically inept. It took the French coach days to come up with the tactical reply. Remember in the first leg, the French were dominated and Sinama Pongolle scored late. That did not make the French coach a tactically weak manager. I think getting us to the final while playing some of the best football in the competition deserves praise. |

Joebie: Etebo was one of our best players in the 2018 world cup. Oviemuno Ejaria was an outstanding player with a mercurial mentality that has near ended his career at a mere 26 year's of age. Incomprehensible 🤔 |

Kog45: It is baffling 37 years old and by 2016 he was finished for top level football ⚽ at age 29. How is that possible. When we have players playing at high level until 35 plus. How old is Ronaldo, Messi, Giroud, Lewondoski, Vardy. 🧐🧐 |

Kog45: I know a lot of coaches with UEFA A and Pro badges that doesn't make them automatically excellent coaches. It's usually the experiential competence expressed in leading professional football clubs. What exactly makes them bright ❓ |

Correction egbon on the bold. Hoener only lost the 1988 AFCON against Cameroon even that was controversial due to the Henry Nwosu goal that was wrongly called offside. Kog45: |

komekn:I thought you based in UK and Mikel spent years in UK,so you should be in better position to know his real age by just walking to him and asked ‘Mikel how old are you?….Mikel left top football at 30 and do little journey man in China, back to England with Middlesbrough and left Stoke city at 34 with 39 appearances in a season, moving to Kuwait and quit the game at 34 years old….. Segun Odegbami quit the game at 32 Adokiye Aimesemeaka quit before 30,so some players feel fulfilled at certain age. Felix Owolabi the Odegbami and Adokiye mate played the game till 40 years of age,in fact won CAF cup in 1992 with shooting stars. I left very good Federal civil service job at 35 voluntarily after spent 12 years and I still have colleagues doing the same job till date. We have different aspirations and visions about life,so better to respect individuals decisions than questioning or asking what is not necessarily |
