chuksvin:Try resend the otp cos it doesn't come on time. By the time it finally arrives, it would have expired. Check your mail and keep refreshing it after re-sending cos vfs otp may never come to your phone. Cheers! |

Eriokanmi:They all hold US valid visas. I guess maybe because we were refused in 2020, that could be the only reason I can think of that caused the long processing time. |

Please am new here and I recently applied for a Canada conference visa last week through an agent, and the conference was scheduled for June 2024. However, due to the current processing time, there is a possibility that the visa may still be issued even if the conference date has passed?? the agent told me it no problem the visa will be issued as the embassy do not really care about the conference date and you cannot be refused visa based on conference date expire. |

Timeline before approval. Applied from Europe. 4 months Bank statement of 7000 euro submitted, 2500 euro to be used for Canada trip. No personal statement, Just wrote in the space that I will like to visit Toronto. Booking . Com reservation and flight reservation. Residence permit and work contract. Thatโs all submitted and all done on my phone. Took 1 year. (I really do not care the outcome because I will be going there to spend my money). Previously denied twice in Nigeria even with a valid USA visa and substantial amount Bank statement submitted. 1 Like |

Ndubestjude: What a question! How will tracking an application affect the outcome? Now, I believe some questions are better not to be answered. |

Hello, please your opinion is needed on this. As a couple going for a vacation, they've been invited by a friend who resides in Canada. The friend will be sponsoring the accommodation and meals for the entire 30 days. What would be a reasonable budget for the husband to allocate for spending in Canada? Additionally, there's a section asking about other sponsors for the vacation (who else will sponsor). Should he include the friend's name since he will be covering accommodation and meals? I appreciate your advice on this. |

Ewaoluwayemi: I would leave room for others to share their opinion. The below are the areas i feel may be of concern to the visa officer: * Have a convincing explanation why both couples would be away for a whole 30 days? Not that this is abnormal but a good reason to convince the officer there is no immigration intent. E.g the average leave period in Nigeria is around 21 to 25 days but i understand there might be unutilized leave period from prior year that can make it 30. Couples would need to explain with good home ties and probably letter from their office confirming their authorized leave. * Amount to be set aside for the trip would depend on the province both of them intends to visit. Their friend could guide them on a budget though not likely to be cheap considering 30 days X 2 couple's. Different provinces have their unique cost of living. * Let the couple demonstrate that they have enough money to cover their trip. They should be the major sponsor of their trip and the friend supporting with accommodation so the VO does not score them low on finances. It is assumed a 30 days trip would have been well planned. * Let them have a well drafted itinerary of their tourist plan for 30 days again, to convince the officer there is no immigration intent. I am always an advocate of shorter duration for a first time applicant then you can do your 30 days in subsequent visit. * If they have good travel history together to other countries in the past like USA or Australia and have been fulfilling their visa conditions by not overstaying, it could boost their chances. Those are my thoughts. |

walenden: Unfortunately, the agent's information is incorrect. You should have checked the visa processing times before applying. attach his the GCMS notes of any applicant who was refused because the conference had already passed. The process for obtaining a Canadian visa has changed since early last year when the rules were more relaxed. Now, you must prepare a thorough application, taking into account the processing time for attending a conference, which is currently about six months. I hope you are not a welder applying to attend a medical conference, as this could be a reason for refusal, and unfortunately, some agents can be quite unprofessional.

I hope you are not a welder applying to attend a medical conference It an illustration as It's important to choose a conference that aligns with your job aspect and offers benefits to your professional life. Simply selecting any conference for visa purposes isn't advisable, as visa applications are now subject to thorough checks and requirements 1 Like |
