This is madness and foolishness with slavery!

So I will spend over 7 million naira to go to Canada only to do after I resigned from my good jobs or closed my business and sold my properties. ...this is not progress but backwardness

Childcare
Taking care of old people
Barbing hair
Fixing laptops

These are low jobs that's can't take you anywhere ! Lord forbid that I am that stupid especially if you are upto 40yrs

How do people willingly sell themselves to slavery and low jobs ...this is underemployment

Many people do it in the USA. I know at least one family that has that their major income. They cook and deliver the food. They cater to Nigerian parties and events. Also in African food stores now you can buy snack food like chin-chin, plantain chips, and akara made right here in the USA. In fact my kids are addicted to akara and also fish with red stew...or "red sauce" and many times we buy it already cooked.

Not everyone has the chance or ability to be doctors or software engineers. I'm trying to understand what's wrong with food delivery.

Am I missing something?

Good Luck to Nigerians
Oga you can't travel and spend millions only to be doing these petty jobs ...it's underemployment period

How can a bank manager in Nigeria be a good delivery guy in UK that's underemployment period ! Money spent training him in university is wasted !

Every Nigerian that migrates is NOT a bank manager, doctor or highly educated. Millions and millions of Nigerians are underemployed.

I know many unemployed Nigerians that have migrated. When I left Nigeria I was unemployed. Guy how easy is it to earn a living in Nigeria today? And how many Nigerians earn enough to live at the world middle class standard?

And even bank manager in Nigeria, what's the big deal? If they're doing OK they can stay in Nigeria, that's their choice.

I've written many times, Nigeria is a good place for those who enjoy experiencing, observing or interacting with poverty.

Nigeria is the Poverty Capital of the World.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

My family borrowed money to send me abroad. My first job was working illegally as a cook at a fast food restaurant. My journey has been a generally positive experience.

I worked side by side in that restaurant with an older guy who was a manager at Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. He's a dollar millionaire today, he owns a business that employs dozens of people. Another guy that worked with us was deported for criminal activity and died in Nigeria.

I've previously explained all this in some detail, not all of us who arrived at that time have been successful, but as a group we have done better than Nigeria would have allowed.

So you're writing trash. My real experience trumps your uninformed speculations.

Nigeria has ALWAYS been poor, Nigeria is a Zoo, Nigeria is the Poverty Capital of the World

If you enjoy observing, experiencing or interacting with POVERTY, then Nigeria is the perfect place. 🥰

Good Luck to Nigerians.

Debt is an inescapable part of life for many Americans, affecting not only our financial stability but also our mental health and relationships. Debt stress is real and pervasive, leaving many feeling like they’re drowning in debt and depression.

With a staggering 77% of American households dealing with some form of debt and the cost of living continuing to rise, the pressure of managing debt can negatively impact the well-being of Americans.

A new survey by Forbes Advisor uncovered the impact debt has on Americans’ mental health and how debt affects our relationships, spending habits and outlook on future financial prospects

This is the life of gbese! They buy everything on credit ! Even ordinary boxers ! They rack up debts in USA and then die of depression ! Unlike Africa that we build our house once and for all...there they buy plank or wooden houses and not even buying ..they mortgage pay small small...credit !

If they don't pay up or are sick the house will be foreclosed if it is a car it will be repossessed

Is that one life ?
Re: Japa: Top 5 Lucrative Side Hustles For Nigerians To Survive In UK, Canada by ariesbull: 1:47pm On Apr 23
Carrying credit card debt isn’t just bad for your budget. It may also affect your health.

The stress of carrying card debt through adulthood is linked to poor health, including joint pain or stiffness that interferes with daily activities, a recent study from the University of Missouri found. Beyond the worries about repaying debt, one reason for poor health may be that people with high debt have little money left to pay for resources that protect their health, the study said.

The findings come at a time of increased financial insecurity for many Americans as a result of the pandemic, though the study noted that the level of unsecured debt, like credit cards, payday loans or medical bills, has been rising more quickly than income over the past several decades.

The new research tapped Department of Labor data to analyze the financial health of almost 7,900 baby boomers over more than a decade, from age 28 to 40, as well as their physical health at age 50. It found that people who carried consistently high levels of unsecured debt were 76 percent more likely to have pain that interfered with their daily life than people with no unsecured debt.

Mr so-called employer business mogul, I have friends in Nigeria that are employed at a salary of $1,000 per day. Yes, you read it right. Your business doesn't earn more profit than they do in salary. What is your name? Prove your claims. What business are you in?

Here in America I was just recently introduced to a psychiatrist employed at a rate of $300/hr. Wetin concern am with business?

I have friends that have been taxi drivers all their time in America and they own good homes and ALL their teenage kids own cars. Some of their children are now doctors and high school coaches and engineers.

I bet you haven't travelled anywhere beyond your state capital in Nigeria. There's no reason for me to be bandying words with an illogical and anonymous person. I've told my story on Nairaland, I advise you to read it and learn. I know more than you.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

Weather he dey work for NASA....tell that to some village kids in Okitipupa or Ebonyi state

The typical American has $1,200 in their savings account -- that's the median savings account balance among Americans surveyed by The Motley Fool Ascent in July 2023.

Data from the Federal Reserve collected in 2022 shows drops in the percentage of Americans who can cover an unexpected $400 expense and those who can cover three months of expenses, for the first time since at least 2013. Additionally, 35% of Americans in 2022 said they were doing worse off than a year ago, up from 20% in 2021 and the highest since at least 2014, per the Federal Reserve.

Yea but Sometimes you can’t avoid it. In some states, If you want a great neighborhood with good schools for your kids, then you might have to go with a HOA neighborhood.

But I’ve done my best to avoid them whenever I can. Moved 3 regions now and I’ve managed not to be entrapped in HOA. Terrible busy bodies
