Tribune Online Anambra school wins National Girls in ICT competition St. John Vianney Science College, Igbariam, Anambra State, on Wednesday, claimed the National Girls in ICT Competition 2024, using their virtual reality project to conquer the national championship title. The National Girls in ICT Competition, organized by the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, is a technology innovation competition for all girls in secondary schools across Nigeria. Their innovative project, M-Tag VR, allows users to explore iconic landmarks like Zuma Rock and learn about fascinating cultural aspects of Nigerian tribes. The girls, Immaculate Ebube Ikegwuonu, Camilla Anyadike, and Nweke-Nonso Oluchi, mentored by their coach, John Onuigbo, triumphed over teams from all 36 states. The girls’ talent shone brightly throughout the competition. They started at the state level where they aced the Anambra state competition, then proceeded to conquer the Southeastern regional championship, defeating teams from Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, and Enugu, to make it to the national stage Their exceptional project and skills impressed judges throughout, culminating in a thrilling national victory against strong contenders from the six geopolitical zones of the country. Rivers and Lagos states secured the second and third-place positions respectively. Immaculate Ebube Ikegwuonu, filled with excitement, said, “We are so grateful for this opportunity! Thanks to our school which motivates us to pursue careers in ICT. Through this win, we hope to inspire other girls to do the same.” Reacting to the win, the director of St. John Vianney Science College, Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube Muo Nso), stated “This national championship is a monumental achievement for our school and a source of immense pride. It exemplifies our commitment to empowering young women in STEM fields. As a science college, we understand the impact of technology and empower students to use it as a force for good. Hence, this win isn’t coming as a surprise. It’s the result of years of hard work.” ICT Competition is facilitated through implementing hubs in each state, which provide logistical support and ensure a smooth competition process. Kodex Africa supported this team from Anambra state. https://tribuneonlineng.com/anambra-school-wins-national-girls-in-ict-competition/ 8 Likes 2 Shares

That was when most schools where build 1935 to 1970s by 1980s 99.99% of all the schools were Exterblished in every community... I mean every community 22 Likes 1 Share |

WaleBuraimoh:Who is this illiterate?, do you know the meaning of Legacy?. Tinubu, Fashola handed back schools to the missions in Lagos, how is that a legacy to them?. |
Re: Anambra School Wins National Girls In ICT Competition by PressMyButton: 12:58pm On Apr 25 |
tuzeriouz:You're plain ignorant. All mission schools in the country were administered by the church before Government took over the schools, since then, those schools were run by each state government, so how were they dilapidated?. State governments handed back the schools to the owners to reduce government expenditures. so, how is this Obi's legacy? |
