Cut wetin for DS - losses? If they open that 43.20 door at this point, ...
I REST MY CASE.
They better wait o till the market picks up a bit after some good Q1 results are released.

There are situations where even exiting isn't possible. But, I'll advise those inside to keep an eye on the fundamentals as chances of it getting battered more than normal is high once the prices start moving.

I don't have either in my portfolio.

All the best to those in the DS/Nascon buses.

What the heck are you saying, my friend? What is the certainty in that champion brewery that you have been parading here?

You see hope that the price may go up if XYZ happens, the same way people in DS/NS saw hope when they heard about the merger. If you claim that the merger would not have sent DS/NS flying upward, then I don't think you are a good investor either.

Now, the merger is on pause, not canceled, pending when the issues holding it back get cleared. I understand Dangote is quite busy with his refinery, which is why he hasn't pushed this one further. I can assure you that I haven't seen a project of this magnitude abandoned by Dangote; the rice mill will come, as he has invested quite a lot. The merger will happen; it is not a matter of hope, it is a matter of when.

So, don't talk as if you know what the market will do next, besides hoping that your permutation is right. If you were a pro, we would know...

There is neither certainty in Champion Brewery nor in life itself..... That is why i only risked 10% of my portfolio in ChampBrew and i will not come on Nairaland to lament or cry like a baby if things go south. For the record, i have never encouraged or asked anyone to invest in ChampBrew. All i do here is discuss the upsides or downsides of companies.......while waiting to drink the tears of NS/DS. I have zero emotions to your losses or gains on the NGX.

If for instance anyone here on NSEMPA gets involved in an accident tomorrow, i can console you, pray and contribute for your treatment. But if you lose money for NGX, i will drink your tears and cherrypick your stocks like NS/DS with zero emotions attached. I no get strength or time to read the book of Lamentations. grin grin grin That is the game we signed up for.

...good talk! While FA means a lot to you, Technical Analysis, Sentiment Analysis, Spiritual Analysis; all mean a lot to some other people. That's why it's not good to talk down other people's opinion (or analysis) because you might not be privy to the knowledge at their disposal.

Own yours and move on. No man has the monopoly of knowledge
grin grin grin grin grin

I'm sorry if it appears I am talking down anyone's analysis. FA and TA also work together. TA works more for short termers and for better targeting entry for medium to long termers.

My last post was meant to address sentimental attachments to stocks. Once again, I'm sorry for any offense it may have caused.

The only thing Oando needs now to appreciate in price is the issues of delist, once it is settled (suspended) which will be cleared by 24th of June 2024.there is no further adjournment the price will skyrocket.

If the acquisition of NAOC by Oando becomes successful and finalized, Oando would have proven oil reserves of about 1billion barrels. At a very conservative estimate of USD50 per barrel, that gives USD50billion. Even if only 50% of that is recoverable, that makes it USD25billion.
At a conservative rate of N1000/USD, that is N25 Trillion naira! The total indebtedness of Oando is far less than that, so there is HUGE potential in Oando. The short-term may be very challenging but the long term prospect is very bright! But for those who don't mind buying and waiting

I need you to just say amen to the prayer first in order for you to judge your conscience. Even Otedola, Elumelu etc will not make that statement you made in public forum. The NGX is not all about someone loosing before you make it. If you must know, there is always a win-win situation most atimes. When you buy stock, make some money and hand over to another set to make their money too. Some bought UBA @ N5 and sold at N12 to others who are still holding/have sold at current price of N23. Not necessarily praying for people to loose money for you to profit from their lost.

The last time I check, your name is not agbalowomeri grin, I would have understand your position. I come in peace sha.

This is not the reality in NGX or any stock market for that matter. There are always ups and downs.

I'll just leave it at that because tensions are already running high.

Peace to the house.

Smart investors look at figures.
The figure is not encouraging or justifying the price at #2.

Personally, I do not think the result is bad but if the market reacts negatively to the result, the better. For me, It is a good buy at current price, a whole lot better if it goes south a few notches more.

NAHCO is a good one to hold long term. It is one stock I still regret selling till today eventhough I made a significant profit from it.

Delisting aside. Also finance costs aside Oando needs to show operations with stronger margins. The 2022FY conveyed an extremely high revenue as revenue jumped from N805b to N1,993 billion. A rise of 148%. But cost of sales jumped up at a faster rate of 151% and nearly wiped out the whole revenue. Oando achieved a 4% Gross profit in 2022. While Seplat had a gross profit of 49% in 2022. Gross profit is before any finance cost is deducted. The Gross Profit is unusually low in the last two annual reports released.

Anything can still happen in Oando, either good or bad!
We all are taking risks in the market. The higher the risks, the bigger the rewards, all things being equal (although all things are rarely equal). Lol.

The boardroom squabbles that rocked the company for many years and its battles with the SEC are majorly responsible for most of the current challenges the company is facing today.
This could even make it very difficult for Oando to get any sympathy or smooth deal if they should approach the SEC with a ridiculous offer price for the proposed delisting. The SEC could use it as opportunity to rein in and deal with Oando (all things being equal).
But generally, the company seems to be overcoming its challenges, one step after the other.
Nobody expected it to be able to acquire Conoco Philips, NAOC, settle aggrieved shareholders for USD600m, and obtain a USD800m facility from Africa EXIM Bank.
Also remember the current president is related to Oando CEO. This could bring in potential bigger deals.

As regards funding, it would not be too difficult to attract the required funds if Wale Tinubu would be willing to shed some of his control and let others buy more of the company's shares. For instance, if a person like Otedola or Elumelu should enter Oando now, everything go change overnight!

Anyhow, anyhow, those staying with Oando know what they are about, and those jumping the ship also know what they are doing. Each Mallam with his kettle!
SEC chairman has been changed recently.
I hope its not what I am thinking.
Like changing INEC chairman prior to election...

Court Ruling does not necessarily end a court case.

This is a very good observation. Seplat show a full disclosure of what make up it cost of sales, i am still looking for what make up the cost of sales of N1.9 trillion for Oando.
