And also do I write separate cover letter for each of them ? And what should I write to convince them in the letter. Is just 8 days fun vacation. Sorry am a novice. Please be kind to consider my plenty questions. Thank you |

giselle237: Thanks. The BVN is needed for the police character certificate. While filling the form, you will need to input your NIN or BVN to verify your name and currently now the NIN is not available on the site. |

Has anyone here used the PH TLS Centre recently? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Ithaca(f): 3:45pm On Apr 24 |
I did my biometrics on April 9th, and just got a mail from TLS to come and pick up my travel documents today. I have not received any other mail from UKVI (apart from the notification that my application has arrived at the decision making center). Is this an indication that the visa has been approved? 1 Like |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Thegamingorca(m): 6:57pm On Apr 24 |
tuco02: You should not book a flight ticket before the outcome of your visa is determined. Unfortunately that will mean your flight would be more expensive closer to your intended travel date 1 Like |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 5:57am On Apr 25 |
Larash:You have 2 refusals in the past for several reasons… bothering on your finances .. you should not apply now if your circumstances have not greatly changed and you are not able to safely address all the concerns raised in the 2 previous refusals. Going for your brother’s graduation is inconsequential at this point if you are still coming with this self employed profile and have not worked on your mistakes. Your brother would graduate with or without you and this is how the ECO reasons. Go and work on your finances and your bank statements OR get a salaried job as from the refusals and the way you have filled your previous visa application forms, the ECOs do not believe you. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 6:04am On Apr 25 |
Larash: Then this again… surely they would revisit your previous visa forms to check what you had written before… how would you explain away the fact that the names and age of the people on your previous application are not your parents?? I don’t know how. |

Hi house good morning The posts here are A LOT i must say, i highly commend everyone here who has contributed in one way or the other. This is the Nigeria we clamor for everyday 🙂 Please I wanted to clarify something, i want to apply for a visiting visa but i want to confirm if its a bad idea for me to use my business account for bank statement purposes Im self employed and I've also traveled to the UK before a few times but i used my parents accounts then. I was younger and hadn't started my business then Thanks in anticipation 😊🙏 |

Hello team I have a question I'd like to ask. I got admission into de Montfort university Leicester for my master's degree and I'm about to start my visa processing. Can I use London as my place of accommodation during my visa processing as I have a relative in London I can stay with? Will it be an issue as London is about 2 hours from Leicester? Can I use it or should I just look for an accommodation in Leicester before I begin my application? Thanks |

Visa Alert! Application Date: April 5th Biometrics: April 9th Transfer to DMC: 9th Received by DMC: 10th TLS collection mail: 24th Pick up: 25th First time applicant, no travel history to western countries (only Ghana and DRC for work). Thanks to everyone for all the information on this thread - I was able to glean so much info from here and tailor my application to suit my unique circumstances, and I am beyond grateful for everyone who has willingly given their time to contribute to this thread. In the spirit of passing it forward, I'd like to give some details about the documents I submitted, who knows, it may be helpful to someone else. Long post alert! My main worry before applying was that I am young and single, so demonstrating home ties would be tough, and the complicated nature of my finances. So I took my time and really overloaded ECO with documents to back up every claim I made Employment evidence- employment letter, promotion letters, introduction letter (stating grade, current job role, previous job roles, emolument), screenshot of leave approval mail which coincided with the period I indicated for my trip, 6 months payslips (for both monthly salary and every allowance that entered my account from my employer), salary account statement, awards, newspaper clippings of work events with my picture representing my coy etc. Financial evidence- account statement, mutual funds statements, stocks statement, crypto currency account statement, pension statement (each savings/investment account included both the balance as well as the transaction statement from inception to date, and inception was mostly around 2019, 2020) Family evidence - details of sister in the uk, invitation letter and tenancy agreement from her (as I stated I would be staying with her), her marriage certificate (since we no longer have the same last name), and a couple of family pictures of us (baby pics and adult pics). Trip: Budget was 2,100 pounds for a 2 week trip, and I included a detailed itinerary (so I actually researched all the places I want to go, distance from my sister's house, cost of trains, cost of activities etc and built it up to make up my budget) Cover letter: I had to write a detailed cover letter to explain my account pattern because I don't leave my salary in my account, I convert to dollars and invest in different things depending on market yields. Fun fact: My salary account opening balance was 170k, closing balance 500k. I told ECO that I don't leave my disposable income/savings in my salary account because it is a current account with 0% interest, while market yields are close to 20%. And I attached the various mutual funds and investment accounts as stated earlier to prove this. During the 6 months statement period, my salary account balance once dropped to 13k, because I bought a new phone that month. I included the Amazon receipt showing the item I purchased, and the billing address (which is my address in Nigeria) to explain that low balance. For the month I paid rent, and there was a significant outflow, I attached my rent receipt. Tldr: Be as honest as you can, tell the ECO the truth, and provide supporting documentation to back up every claim you make. My documentation was probably overkill but I didn't want to leave anything to chance and have to start dealing with a refusal. I'm glad it all worked out, once again, thank you all! 15 Likes |

Larash: I would advice you leave UK application for now. The more you change your figures, the more suspicious your application becomes. You either take time off and claim self employed and build a new profile. Or you go and pay tax on the figures you have quoted you earn for 3 years. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 5:15pm On Apr 25 |
omo1: I suggest you pay yourself a monthly salary from your business account. Just transfer a fixed sum of money from your company account to your personal account every month. If it can be on the same date every month, the better. E.g April 2024 salary - paid on 30 April. N500,000. Do that every month for at least 6 months. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 8:24pm On Apr 25 |
Larash:More woes for you!! So why are you telling lies? I understand the situation but dishonesty is never the answer. Desperation never ends well. Never. Anything may happen in the future and this lie would further cement the problem for you. It is even worse. With your 2 refusals it is also very hard for any ECO to grant an ‘Aunty’ with unstable financial circumstances wanting to go for nephew’s graduation… the parents or siblings perhaps… extended family with no travel history, with poor economic ties as well as no home ties… hmmm Your past refusals are a major minus already on your application and now this? Smh |

UK TB Test - Comprehensive Details of Process and experience at St. Nicholas Hospital Hi all, thought to provide detailed info and updates to anyone who recently wants to do their TB test for UK Work or Student Visa. St. Nicholas is your best bet. They only process medicals for UK and dont do other countries, so that already means less crowd compared to IOM and Q- life. It was a short wait time and smooth process. All the admin staff, front desk and nurses that attended to me were courteous, and warm asides the stand offish and haughty attitude from the consultant Dr. Akinloye.. Her attitude really stank...but me sef no send Had my mind focused on the end goal... Do the test, collect my test results and we meuveee!! In all, i spent no more than 30mins there. Got there about 11.15am. Make sure you have a hardcopy of your appointment confirmation. I didn't have mine but was directed to a business center nearby to print. I got an email from them next day (morning precisely) ; the results were out - both soft copy and hardcopy. You can attach the softcopy with your visa supporting docs. It already has the doctors signature, and a barcode, so the authenticity is valid. Also, according to their mail you can print the soft copy document yourself- but for best quality they said to print the document on Conqueror paper. (Conqueror Paper is that thick yellow certifcate paper...) So in short if you're not able to return there to pick your hardcopy, you can print the soft copy on Conqueror paper and you're good to go! I hope this detailed info helps someone!! 4 Likes 1 Share |
