Why do we choose to bury our heads in the sand, or is it deliberate to keep the North under perpetual bandage. Hausas, your history predates 18th century West Africa and Nigeria story, your history precedes this millenia. Daura in northern Nigeria, is the oldest city of Hausaland. The Hausa of Gobir, also in northern Nigeria, speak the oldest surviving classical vernacular of the language.[33] Historically, Katsina was the centre of Hausa Islamic scholarship but was later replaced by Sokoto stemming from the 19th century Usman Dan Fodio Islamic reform.[34] We have existed as a people for thousands of years, these religions came into Africa just a couple of hundred of years ago, we have to go back into time and tap into the essence of our roots, as African people, connected to this soil, and water. Let's tap into our essence...like the Chinese and Indians are doing. 2 Likes |

The real target is the telecoms mast. Others are all smokescreen. Looks like serious illegal mining and other resources grab is ongoing. The banditry and boko terrorism seems not enough to distract and scare the 'prying' public eye. The place needs to be placed on 'communication blackout' for a more secure operation. Satellite 🛰 communication is enough to meet their own very needs. My thought though. 2 Likes |

SoNature: I swear.. I kept expressing my concerns when this whole banditry was at the early stages. People kept paying huge ransoms to those bastards, I eventually gave up when the government of some northern states also started paying huge ransoms. I predicted that these bandits were going to be empowered with the outrageous ransoms that even our Nigerian soldiers would not be able to withstand them one on one... |

This time last year, these shameless Traditional Rulers collected Cadillacs worth tens of millions from the then Governor and subsequently kept mum about the killings. They refuse to speak out on the killings, they refuse to force the hand of the governor to do anything. Now the chicken has come home to roost. |

Racoon: Lets not always see things through the tribal prism. Look at the map. Niger State is very large and has a lot of uninhabited spaces that have been taken up by terrorists. The former Governor was always complaining about that. How many soldiers can be posted there compared to the large number of bandits who know the terrain better? It's easy for them to ambush soldiers in the forest areas. I think the NA and other security forces need to come up with a new strategy to deal with this. |
