People kept paying huge ransoms to those bastards, I eventually gave up when the government of some northern states also started paying huge ransoms. I predicted that these bandits were going to be empowered with the outrageous ransoms that even our Nigerian soldiers would not be able to withstand them one on one...

When this madness started in the north, some of them were happy, thinking they will attack churches only.

This time last year, these shameless Traditional Rulers collected Cadillacs worth tens of millions from the then Governor and subsequently kept mum about the killings.

They refuse to speak out on the killings, they refuse to force the hand of the governor to do anything.

Lets not always see things through the tribal prism. Look at the map. Niger State is very large and has a lot of uninhabited spaces that have been taken up by terrorists. The former Governor was always complaining about that. How many soldiers can be posted there compared to the large number of bandits who know the terrain better? It's easy for them to ambush soldiers in the forest areas. I think the NA and other security forces need to come up with a new strategy to deal with this.

Emir should go back to his palace to rule his people or get a replacement
