This is a credit to AIS. Obvious they don't want the prestige and reputation associated with their educational institution tainted publicly with 'dirty' money.

They proactively asked for an authentic account to refund the payment Bello made and EFCC provided it. They have now refunded the full amount immediately.

Commendable.
My thought exactly. Similar experiences were unsuccessful when refund was sought from a popular Church where someone used proceeds of fraud to sow seed and support the Church. The popular pastor who heads the church said the money tilo

Nothing to Rejoice about the Refund cause it will still be Re-looted by Official Criminals in EFCC.
Who will Probe EFCC of all the recovered Funds during Buhari 8 years in Office.

not exactly. the school on its own initiated the move to refund the money without any prodding from EFCC. they did it out of their volition. even if EFCC will still steal the money, we must not loose sight of the ethics by which the school operates by which nigerians should seek to imbibe especially when we know that many institutions and individuals always find it difficult refunding money they received monies that they didnt deserve to have

Sadly, thats the end of the case. No punishment for a big thief that can pay back. Indirect Plea bargain... I can as well just steal 1 billion naira turn it over, then refund the 1billion naira i stole

The EFCC chairman is doing exactly what he is supposed to do; be transparent. If every single person in government was transparent, Nigeria will be better.
transparent in one and opaque in many right?

Yahaya Bello is being disgraced for daring Lagos Landlord during APC Presidential Primaries in 2022 by refusing to step down for the oracle of Yoruba land. His harassment by the EFCC has nothing to do with whatever money they said he stole.

Tell me Dollar Man Ganduje didn't steal more than 100billion naira as Kano Governor yet same EFCC is shielding him because he is a close friend and political ally of Lagos landlord.

Make una try de get sense for Nigeria, those corrupt politicians and their stooges at EFCC, DSS, etc are only doing you Nigerians abracadabra

Nigerian politicians are mad. You can pay $750,000 in advance for your kids to enjoy the best education in the country while the kids in your state receive their education in schools that look like shrines.
That's what happens wherever bigotry reigns. Had Faleke been a Muslim, he'd have continued as gubernatorial candidate in a joint ticket after Abubakar Audu's death. Bello had already left the party and joined the pdp after
losing the primary if you remember.

The same applies to Christian-dominated states . They'd vote based on religous beliefs instead of merit. That's why Nigeria is this backward. I wish Audu didn't die. He was such an amazing man

very true but it shows that school upholds beautiful values which prompted it to volunteer refunding the money without a request from EFCC. this is in contrast with many of us, individuals, banks, companies, businesses and even churches who when money enters their accounts and you justifiably ask for a refund, you go drag till eternity

Which beautiful values lol. That money is proceeds of crime, plus the request comes from a major government body representing the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Any organization/individual caught receiving such (with evidence) would move fast and return the money if it doesn’t want problem.

Don’t even forget Dollarization Policy - it is illegal to price or denominate the cost of any product or service in dollars. The school is lucky that EFCC has a bigger fish to fry. Them sef no go wan poke mad man.

…i am certain u really dont need any other convictions that this country was completely finished. The best u can do for your future generations is to hustle hard, travel abroad and earn a life for u and for them. I cannot even imagine that 760k dolls public fund will be used by a Governor to pay for his Children’s tuition fees. Thats over 800 million naira. Which would have been able to do a meaningful project in that state. Can Bello spend even 10 million of his personal money for a child’s school fees? The answer is ‘No’. So, when next they employ your services as a political thug, let your head guide other parts of your body. Be wise. These politicians dont care.

Yet, significant part of the populace do not have access to clean water, no public toilet system, poor hospital services and low quality public schools.

Anyways, every set of people deserve their leader. This I believe.

I know EFCC is a stewpid agency but on this one, the silly media began to mess the whole thing up. They started setting the stage for commentators that are spinning the case against EFCC. In the space of 48 hrs channels and TVC and Arise changed the narratives to EFCC disregarding court order, even when EFCC did not do that. EFCC had to come out to set the record straight, the EFCC press thing was to refocus the mind of the whole society on the real issue, and it was after EFCC did that we all began to focus on the actual issue Yahaya stole money Nigerian media are so irresponsible and they dont really understand their duty in nation building

760k from one man...
Imagine the ones not heard about...
Not 760 but $845,852.
The school removed the fees already spent and refunded the balance of 760k.
From one man? That amount is pennies to him considering how much he chopped. Abi did you not see the car just 1 of his 4 wives (not to talk about concubines) was driving last year? 20023 mayback, brand new.

He has achieved in a few weeks what non of his predecessors could not achieve in years.

Tell me of a EFCC chair that got as much from a former Governor.

Tell me of a EFCC chair that got anything from any former Governor within a short time of the governor leaving office

Credit should be given where it is due.
