There is no how Yayaha Bello can beat this charge. He was caught red-handed.

He had better exile himself cuz he is definitely going to prison

Which beautiful values lol. That money is proceeds of crime, plus the request comes from a major government body representing the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Any organization/individual caught receiving such (with evidence) would move fast and return the money if it doesn’t want problem.

pls read again for better understanding.... it shows that school upholds beautiful values which prompted it to volunteer refunding the money without a request from EFCC. this is in contrast with many of us, individuals, banks, companies, businesses and even churches who when money enters their accounts and you justifiably ask for a refund, you go drag till eternity.

if you dont understand what you read, pls let me the part you understand so I can help to shed some light

The School wouldn't want to be involved in the Mess Yaya Bello got himself into, the reason for the Prompt refunds Else EFCC would've still come after them.

Go ask Ngozi Okonjo. Its highly recommended to publicize any corruption fight. Its also for safety reasons.
They'll attack EFCC chaiman with what he can't say no to and inturn drop the case.
It's in the open so let them fight.

This is a credit to AIS. Obvious they don't want the prestige and reputation associated with their educational institution tainted publicly with 'dirty' money.

They proactively asked for an authentic account to refund the payment Bello made and EFCC provided it. They have now refunded the full amount immediately.

Commendable.
Reputation? AIS shouldn't have agreed to such deal in d first place. Abi na so dem dey do for their country? Common sense would have told them this is a stolen fund else while on earth making a decade advance payment. Thunder 🔥 prestige n reputation

how does that negate the point I made? how many companies, businesses and individuals that have benefitted from Yahaya's Bello's corruption have called EFCC to refund the money they collected from knowing fully well that it is proceeds from corruption?

Two questions:
1. Why are they returning the money now that EFCC is after him?

2. Are we sure the school is not being used as fronts for money laundering?

Meanwhile to the rest of you,

Please learn to be compassionate in word and deed while dealing with others and God will bless you.

1Pet.3.8 - Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;

Answer to Q1: They have to return the money to avoid any reputational damage. Second, it has become public knowledge. Third, there are sections of the anti graft law that can take them to be complicit.

Answer to Q2: The aim of the upfront payment is basically for money laundering. If it has not been exposed, nothing stops him from getting his money back in any form especially since the school will not want him to withdraw his children.. Simply paddy Paddy arrangement.

He must still be convicted because that is enough evidence and the school must be treated as an accomplice.

Where are the Kogi State so called law makers, the gangsters and protesters who said Yahaya Bello didn't steal any money from the State because the State is poor. Anyway, the State is poor, because Bello made the State to be poor.
For those who believe the youth is their hope for a better Nigeria, IS YAHAYA BELLO AN ELDER? Can't you see that even in your hope, you are actually hopeless?
Re: Yahaya Bello: American School, Abuja Refunds $760,000 Fees by ppogba: 4:12pm On Apr 27
But, come to think of it, I thought his media team said there was nothing like this payment in their press release.

Indeed, some people are just working for their pay.

not exactly. the school on its own initiated the move to refund the money without any prodding from EFCC. they did it out of their volition. even if EFCC will still steal the money, we must not loose sight of the ethics by which the school operates by which nigerians should seek to imbibe especially when we know that many institutions and individuals always find it difficult refunding money they received monies that they didnt deserve to have
U don't take what you wouldn't want to eat close to your nose! AIS wouldn't have collected if that hasn't been their modus operandi. 10 years advance payment for God's sake. Haba!

Let's support the EFCc chairman for having the courage to speak out unless you are one of the beneficiaries of the looting. The more he spills the better for the country otherwise the Ododo guy will do worse.
