Restructuring: EFCC Chair, Olukoyede Appoints Chief Of Staff, Zonal Directors by Bobloco: 10:36pm On Apr 27
The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has named Mr. Michael Nzekwe as his Chief of Staff and appointed Zonal Directors for each of the 14 Zonal Commands of the Commission.

Nzekwe, a distinguished investigator, lawyer, and former Commander of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC, holds the rank of a course one officer within the Commission.

He boasts a wealth of experience having served across various departments, including Legal and Prosecution, Operations (now Investigations), Internal Affairs (now Ethics and Integrity), Servicom, and Asset Forfeiture.

The commission made the announcement in a post on its social media handle on Saturday.

With a rich background in administration, Nzekwe has undergone numerous domestic and international training programs, notably including the Advance Defence Intelligence Officers Course organized by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).

His appointment is effective immediately, and he has already assumed his duties.

Olukoyede, in his restructuring and repositioning of the EFCC, equally upgraded all the Zonal Commands of the Commission to the status of Departments, with each of them headed by a Director. To this effect, 14 new Directors have been appointed to head each of the Zonal Commands.

Additionally, to bolster and fortify the security architecture of the Commission, the Security Unit of the EFCC has been upgraded to a Department with a seasoned officer appointed as Director, Security and Chief Security Officer.

A new Department has also been created in the Executive Chairman’s office and it is headed by former Makurdi Zonal Commander of the EFCC, Mr. Friday Ebelo, who also doubles as Director and Coordinator, Special Duties at the corporate headquarters of the Commission.

The former Department of Internal Affairs has been renamed Department of Ethics and Integrity and minor reshuffling effected in some Departments at the headquarters.

“An important component of the restructuring is the creation of a new Department to drive the Preventive Mandate of the EFCC. Olukoyede, in an unprecedented move, created the Fraud Risk Assessment and Control Department to handle this all-important work of the Commission. The Department has commenced operations and its impact would be felt more across the country in a short while.”

Olukoyede says that the ongoing restructuring is meant for the repositioning and strengthening of the EFCC to deliver on its assigned mandate optimally.

But let him just nail Mr. Bello down because his attraucities are numerous....

How can you pay your child's school fees in dollars and upfront but pays workers in percentage.

What sort of evil will a man subject people working under him to receive the lowest amount of money for salary.

This boy, stop writing trash! Do you know the meaning of incompetence? How is Mr. Olukoyede incompetent? The EFCC died when Nuhu Ribadu left the commission. For now, Olukoyede is too new for someone to call him incompetent.

We are with you Mr Olukoyede.

Please we need tye EFCC to spend more time on investigations. Once you take receipts of fraudulent banking transactions, receipts of properties fraudulently acquired, records of phone calls, videos of criminal activities, build a water tight case on few count charges and expedite prosecution. When prosecution drags too long, even prosecutors may lose steam and want to move on to something else.

Also when you declare someone wanted, depending on how much is involved, attach a reward on the declaration. Without a reward system, it is hard for those declared wanted to be found. If the reward is attractive, their own family members can snitch on them. That way, you have also created jobs for bounty hunters.

Finally, we are now seeing a rejuvenated EFCC since the time of Nuhu Ribadu. Olukoyede, you have our support. Remember you won't make friends and you may not leave the position liked by most people. Your aim is not to be liked but to leave a lasting legacy. Remember that the best reference for EFCC was Nuhu Ribadu. Look at him today. If he does well as NSA, imagine where he'd be in 2031.

I think the devil as had a grip of the brain of some Nigerians, a governor that subjected his citizens to untold hardship for months by paying percentage salary, i remember a man with wife and four children one in the university collecting N7,667.09 has salary for months , and the said governor paid his own children school fees upfront in dollars , i even heard that one of his child is even a toddler that have not even started school but the have paid the school fees to finish.

Haba and some people are defending such human being, even if EFCC goofed on the part of the useless law we practiced in Nigeria, we need to support them to succeed.

If you consider him as the most incompetent then maybe you are not old enough to know about the unproductive time of Lamorde and Farida. They virtually achieved nothing. At least this one is speaking out and informing the public.
