Any civil servant who gets opportunity and stole Nigeria government money to better his/her family life will not enter hell fire. It is only Haram if he stole billions but a little over half a billion should be enough to set up his family for life through businesses and investments. This is halal unless government starts paying nothing less than 400k minimum wage based on current market price 2 Likes |

To help arrive at a fairly acceptable minimum wage, the FG and unions can use the situation between 2011 to 2014 when Nigerians enjoyed the highest PP from 1990 to date. In 2014, at N18k minimum wage, you could get 2 bags of rice with change or 150 litres of pms or 45kg of cooking gas... Using that as a guide and given current prices, the minimum wage today should at least get the equivalent of those items as at 2014. For instance, since a bag of rice now averages N75k, the minimum wage should be around N180k. So you can get your 2 bags with a little change as it was in 2014. This is of course dependent on if this rudderless administration can keep prices relatively stable at current rates. |

This minimum wage issue would further escalate the prices of goods and services in the Nigerians market. How many States can pay this wage? NLC should be more realistic. |
