Emusan:I know this because the earth has been rotating in its axis, and moving across this cosmos endlessly, since the beginning of time, billions of years ago...and space time is calculated in light years...to show you the speed and vastness in space...also if you know the speed of jets and spaceships, and how limited it still is, when it comes to venturing into deep parts of space, yoi will have an idea. Also scientists calculate space distances by light, how the light of a star is seen, can help calculate the distance, and scientists infered that space is so vast, it's distance is incalculable. 2 Likes |

Mj4199:this is because we have Been lied to about the sun being a burning gas of ball shinning light on all directions. if this is the case then the sun's light should be shining in space too but its not. the suns is a flat shaped object located in the firmament of the earth and its light is only shining out forward and no other way which is why the surrounding is dark. the light of the sun is concentrated just like that of a torch light. when you point a torch light to the wall you see the brightest light of the torch in the middle, this is called the light-spot. the suns light spot is located around the tropic regions of the earth which are in the equatorial regions of the earth reason you have these areas hotter than other regions. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Emusan:Have you ever viewed the night sky on a clear night and observer stars moving and the enormosity of the number of stars? Well that is through the naked eye, which is very limited, researches and observation have being made with enormous size and powerful telescopes in space and they were able to estimate the number of stars in the galaxy note it is just an estimate. Through study and observation it was found out that space is actually expanding and according to Albert Einstein the speed of light in space is a constant which was found to be less than the rate of the expansion of the universe. |

baretalk: Can I see the video you take with earth rotation? Just say you read about it. to show you the speed and vastness in space...also if you know the speed of jets and spaceships, and how limited it still is, when it comes to venturing into deep parts of space, yoi will have an idea. You can't have any idea, if you consider that the speed of light that human can't even match for now is the fastest in our world. Also scientists calculate space distances by light, how the light of a star is seen, can help calculate the distance, and scientists infered that space is so vast, it's distance is incalculable. Light of star is seen from Earth and you believe that. Is there assumption in their calculation? |

Mj4199:that is the reason it is called THE UNIVERSE the Sun as HUGE as it is, bright as it could be, luminant as it is, it still remain like a dot in that Verse. as hot as the Sun is here on Earth surface, the heat isn't getting to some planets after the Earth likewise it's illumination isn't penetrating some planets. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Itohanmiwa: Yes Nairaland can be quite focused on shallowness and gossip. ...speaks much about us generally because they see which posts gets most traffic, gossips and bad news are 'good'... This is quite inquisitive, well to answer your question, we all know the sun is made up of fusions of Helium and Hydrogen gases, while it is stagnant and the solar system rotates and revolves around the sun, the light from the sun is just focused on our own solar system. While the outer space or spaces beyond our universe which stretches to billions of miles remains dark. I think the Space you mentioned to be dark carries same illumination as illuminated Space (on earth). The illusion of darkness is brought about by the state of matter or atoms in that "dark" Space which is different from that in illuminated Space. Where there is light, there is Matter which reflects or causes an 'obstruction' to those energies (called "light" for it to be humanly visible. In other words, there is light in that darkness, the things that makes sunlight visible in Earth's atmosphere are just 'absent' in "dark" spaces. Another reason we can't see light in space is because of a human morphological condition where our eyes are not able to accommodate light in given colors, shades, and conditions while other creatures like dogs are able to achieve this. This gives us a condition where it is impossible for darkness to exist without light and vice versa. We just need to create suitable conditions for both realities to exist or vanish. "Off" and "On". Same goes for any condition in life. Solutions and Problems are coexistent. Nothing is a solution, nothing is a problem. Nothing is good, nothing is bad. You just have infinitesimal states of existences and manifestations that are relative. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Emusan:Space scientists and researchers make these findings using high tech telescopes on earth and other space base tech stationed in space. The space is unbelievably vast and that's why it is not lit up with light from those stars. Take for instance it takes 8 minutes for light to reach the earth from the sun even though the earth is the third planet closest to the sun. Then imagine how long it would take light from the sun to reach other planets. Some planets don't even get to experience much of the intensity of the sun rays as felt on earth. Planets like Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter are gas giants and they are not anywhere close to the hotness on the earth due to the huge distance between them and the sun. |
Re: Why Is There Sun In The Space And The Space Is Still Very Dark by Emusan(m): 12:38pm On Apr 29 |
SEGLIZ: If illumination can't penetrate some planets it means the sun is very small when view from those planets. An ironically the Sun gravity can reach everywhere as far as holding the biggest planet in our solar system in its orbit Isn't that wonderful? People can swallow anything sha |

Emusan:I see you are not speaking from the point of intelligence or empirical evidence, science have more evidence than religion. A lot of things have been discovered by science... electromagnetism, x-ray, electroviolet waves, static electricity etc...this is how you can use your phone to communicate with someone in America on video. Science and technology has done a lot, we have evidence, so yes, we can believe their science reports and data. Secondly, to know the Earth moves, is why we have day and night, because the earth moves and faces the Sun and Moon different times, that is why it can be day time in Nigeria and night in America. So many things about space, you can observe even as an earthling. Study and be approved, you sound ignorant, and seems you are here to disprove scientific facts without any strong arguments or facts. You sound lame. Science gave you cars, aeroplane, gps, television, microwave etc...Science is real. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Nice topic but I need to add some things. The Sun is a Star. It is part of the Trillions of Stars in space. We see it bigger because of how close it is to us even though it's some million kilometers away. It would take about 1.3millions earths to fill up the Sun. That's how humongous the Sun is. There are other stars bigger than the Sun by far. One of them is Betelgeuse which is red supergiant and it's already in it's last stages of life. When it runs out of fuel, it would explode with the power of a thousand Suns which is called a supernova and then either leave behind a black hole or a white dwarf to start a new life. Our eyes can't see every color in space just as we can't see infrared. Space is mostly made up of dark matter. There is tons of it around us. light can move through dark matter in space but light can't escape a black hole. The light from the Sun takes 8½ minutes to reach us on Earth. In space, you need high amount of power to move away from planets with high gravity. The ozone layer is protecting the Earth from the sun's rays and flares. If one flare hits us directly, millions would have cancer, our power grids would collapse instantly, A lot of crops would die and electric appliances would be fried. Mercury has no atmosphere due to the solar flares. Only one side of mercury ever faces the sun. The other side is extremely dark and freezing cold. Venus is the hottest planet in this solar system, Mars is red desert where it doesn't rain water. It rains ice and dust. Oh I love Astronomy 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Akalia: How do they measure the distance between solar system? Take for instance it takes 8 minutes for light to reach the earth from the sun even though the earth is the third planet closest to the sun. Yes because light travels at 3.0 x 10^9, now how can they measure the distance between solar systems they claim they are light years apart? Then imagine how long it would take light from the sun to reach other planets. Some planets don't even get to experience much of the intensity of the sun rays as felt on earth. I like this part, so how can the same sun gravity hold those planets in their orbit? Don't you think the sun gravity will be too weak to act on them? |

That's because we have been educated wrongly about the planet and it's stars. Over the earth, there is a dome or firmament where nothing comes in and nothing goes out. What are the lies ( findings from hubble space telescope, voyagers, perseverance, even the recently launched James web telescope). NASA has deceived the entire world about the earth's shape and it's skies. What is correct? The sun, moon and the stars were set in the firmament by the Almighty. The moon is not reflecting the sun's light, it has its own. When the sun is moving away from us we transition to night and when it starts to move towards us, it's day. The earth is not moving round the sun and spinning, No not at all.....The sun is moving round the earth which is like a flat disc surrounded by an ice wall called Antarctica, keeping the ocean boundaries. Above the firmament what we have is not space, but another ocean bigger than the whole of earth. All the earth satellites are hanging in a place a little above the first atmosphere and some are around the dome. Let me stop here for now 2 Likes 1 Share |
