If not the presence of atmosphere on earth earth is basically darkness. Space is a vacuum with no presence of atmosphere for sun lights to bounce off that’s why it’s pitch black always. |

Emusan:Bro I am a space enthusiast and an aspiring independent space researcher but I believe in God unlike most scientists that do not believe in God. See, I will say that what keeps all these planets floating in an order without misaligning or colliding with one other is an enigma emanating from Providence . Some of the scientific findings upheld today logically is bullshit-take for instance the big bang theory and the evolution of man. Only God- the creator knows all there is to know about the universe because he is the creator. What men know as of today is very minute and to a large extent not exactly very accurate. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

As an astronomy student...... The space is massively wide beyond human imagination... that we ( earth ) barely get noticed in the cosmos phenomenal. Let's say Delta state is our solar system(milky way)..and Asaba is the capital i.e The Sun. warri is Earth, Agbor is Mars etc... Nigeria as whole is the Galaxy, and we have thousands or uncountable States in Nigeria of which every states has their own state capitals, some has more than one capitals ( Sun) Then we have Africa as continent which can be referred as the Universe here, and inside the African continent, we have thousands/ uncountable countries ( Galaxies). Now here comes the observable universe ( let's say the world wide) inside the observable universe we have uncountable universe.. Then we have the Multiverse , this is the collections of observable universe with different laws of nature etc.. The cosmos is like a vessel..containing uncountable things ( gravity, planet, stars, blackhole, wormhole, white dwarf, gas dust, etc etc etc)....the more we discover , the lesser we know... We barely exist... Sometimes I do question the existence of God, or he's powerful beyond human ever imagination.. Or the nature itself is the God!! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Light particle need to hit an object before they can be visible. Point your touchlight to the sky you won't see the rays of light. But as soon as the light rays hit the wall or roof they become visible. 1 Like |

Emusan:sun light do get to all planets in the solar system just that it is comparably weaker. The biggest planet in the solar system is very small in comparison to the size of the sun. |

In Optics incident and reflected rays are dependent on an object which makes it impossible to get light in space (vacuum). The sun hits the Earth"s cruste from millioñs of km away and those "fire storms" are bigger than the Earth in size but normal solar system activities and solar wind negates the effects of cosmic rays on the planetary system. |

[quote author=Emusan post=129693470] The bold is sufficient for me.[/quot So you already have a preconceived mindset, now disturbing us. I thought you were a science enthusiast or space enthusiast. Next time open this in the religious section. There are things that science can't decipher or understand, but the basics, like the questions you posed have all been answered by science...for instance the earth is not 6000 years old, we know that space is vast because of calculations and space craft man have sent to space. If our computers and equipments for calculating distances on Earth work, why will we doubt the calculations science brings out about space? Stop mixing up religion and science... everything about religion are encapsulated in a book, science is beyond that, and religion is not the way to the truth or a better world, its more about manipulation. 2 Likes |

Yankee101: but isn't the sun 360 degrees all around all light? rays emanating from all sides? so essentially, you're saying some parts of the sun is opaque? |

The reason is that light is invisible in space unless it hits matter like dust, cloud, wall, earth etc and reflects |

God created the sun to shine light to the earth which he created for a (his own) purpose. Science is a knowledge that tries to interpret life and existence but only to the extent that God allows man to know. Each time I come across science trying to find out answers that are glaringly found in the scriptures but decided to ignore it in order to make science relevant I laugh and shake my head Let's focus on the things that are revealed to us and forget about things that are not accessible to our comprehension, the moment you realise that there is a creator who created all things, you won't bother yourself about some of the things we pay soo much attention to. |
